Yew Crypts

Located East of Yew and West of the Justice Shrine, one finds the Yew Crypts. The Crypts are four buildings, connected by underground passageways. The single entrance is located at the most Southern small building. Lower-level Undead creatures will be found at the Crypts in Trammel. In Felucca, it is the base of the Shadowlords Faction.

You will also find the abandoned settlement of Sleepy Hallows...which became a massive graveyard after the plague ravaged the area.

Sleepy Hallows

Deep within the thick canopy of the Yew Forest on the Felucca shard, tucked away just east of the ancient, lichen-crusted Yew Crypts, lies the ghost town of Sleepy Hallows.

Decades ago, Sleepy Hallows was a quiet hamlet of woodcutters and scholars who preferred the damp solitude of the Northern Timbers over the bustling center of Yew. But Felucca’s harsh nature eventually took its toll. An unknown blight swept through the livestock, followed by a dark resurgence of necromancy from the nearby crypts. Within weeks, the villagers fled or perished, leaving Sleepy Hallows to collapse into rot and moss. Today, the town is little more than a collection of sunken timber cottages, crumbling stone archways, and overgrown dirt paths continuously blanketed in a heavy, cold fog.

The abandon has allowed filth to take root. Massive black rats scuttle through the floorboards of the ruinous tavern, and swarms of giant vampire bats cling to the rafters of the collapsed church, sweeping down on anyone foolish enough to venture near. At nightfall, the lingering corruption of the Yew Crypts bleeds into the town square, pulling skeletal remains and restless wraiths from the soil to wander the empty roads.

Yet, none of these creatures are what keeps travelers from setting foot in Sleepy Hallows.

That terror belongs to the legacy of Bram Van Brunt, an arrogant, boastful mercenary commander who led a band of henchmen during the early border wars of Britannia. Bram was notorious for his ruthless nature and his prized mount—a coal-black steed with glowing red eyes named Ruuin.

During a dark confrontation near the old wooden bridge bordering the village, a group of soldiers ambushed Bram’s patrol. A stray, brutal strike of a cannonball cleaved Bram’s head clean from his shoulders. His body fell into the murky creek, while his terrifying warhorse bolted deep into the dense Yew woodlands.

Because Bram died filled with unholy rage and an unquenched thirst for vengeance, his spirit could not rest. Bound to the dark energies of Felucca and the necromantic tides of the Yew Crypts, Bram rose again.

Now, he rides the rotting paths of Sleepy Hallows as the "Headless Horseman".

Mounted upon the spectral, fire-hooved frame of Ruuin, the Horseman patrols the fog-drenched roads connecting the Yew Crypts to the heart of the abandoned town. In place of his lost head, he carries a carved, fiery Jack-o'-Lantern—a mocking beacon born of demonic flame.

Local lore claims that every night when the moon sits directly over the Yew Crypts, the Horseman begins his wild hunt. He slays any living trespasser in his path, seeking the one who stole his life—or claiming fresh heads to replace his own.

Adventurers who dare enter Sleepy Hallows must cut through swarms of plague rats and screeching bats, bypass the skeletal guardians of the crypts, and face the Horseman at the ancient wooden bridge.

Legend says that those who cross the threshold of the bridge after midnight are never heard from again...
