Underworld
Description:
The Underworld is a shadowy realm that bridges the gap between life and death. Dark caverns and eerie landscapes characterize this haunting dimension. Home to undead beings and spectral entities, the Underworld poses a chilling challenge to adventurers seeking to explore its ethereal depths. The realm holds the essence of the afterlife and enigmatic rewards for those who confront the mysteries within.
Location:
The entrance to the underworld is on Fire Island on the Trammel facet. The dungeon itself is divided into several sections based on the ruling inhabitants. Goblins tend to dominate the main areas of the dungeon
Description:
The underworld is a dark and foreboding place that lies beneath the surface of the world. It is home to a wide variety of creatures and monsters, many of which are powerful and dangerous.
The underworld is divided into several distinct regions, each with its own unique characteristics and challenges. The Underworld is also the entrance to the Abyss, which is a vast and sprawling network of tunnels and caverns that is home to many of the most evil creatures in the game.
In other regions of the Underworld you may encounter a dark and ancient burial ground filled with the undead, Undead Worgs, and liches. It is also described in lore as a twisted and corrupted realm of demons and other evil entities; and Navery, a giant spider-like creature with her minions.
Navigating the underworld can be a daunting task, as the tunnels and caverns are often filled with traps and other hazards. Players must be careful as they explore, as many of the creatures that inhabit the underworld are highly aggressive and will attack without warning.
Despite its dangers, the underworld is also a place of great treasure and reward. Players who are brave enough to venture into its depths can often find rare and valuable items that cannot be found anywhere else in the game.

Goblin King - Lore of the Underworld
Long before adventurers first dared descend into the volcanic depths beneath Fire Island, long before the Shadowlords fell and the great eruption tore open the earth to birth the Underworld dungeon, a single goblin clawed his way out of the Gray Goblin Encampment with blood on his hands and a stolen crown on his head...
His name, spoken only in fearful whispers among the gray-skinned tribes, was Grimslade — and he was not born a king. He was born the runt of a litter of twelve, cast aside, mocked, and put to work hauling bones from the deep tunnels beneath the Gray Goblin camp while his brothers sharpened their blades and dreamed of glory. What they did not know — what none of them knew — was that Grimslade had been hauling those bones not out of obedience, but out of study. In those deepest passages, where the stone glowed faintly green with the same toxic light that would one day mark his hue, he had discovered something the green goblins of the northern encampment had tried to bury for generations: a cache of alchemical knowledge left behind by Tyball the Mad Wizard himself, sealed in vials and bound journals hidden behind vine-covered walls long before the Stygian Abyss tore the world open again.
From those journals Grakthar learned the art of the poison-bone — how to steep the marrow of fallen enemies in the toxic runoff of the deep earth and forge from death a weapon that could hatch new life on command. He practiced in secret for seventeen years. Then, on the night his eldest brother was made chieftain of the gray tribe, Grimslade threw his first bone.
What followed was not a battle. It was a reckoning. The creature that hatched that night from the bone Grimslade hurled — a massive, shadow-black war chief shaped from the concentrated hatred of every slight and every wound and every year of servitude — tore through the flesh of the chieftain's guards with horrific efficiency, there was no one left to oppose him...
Grimslade crowned himself not with gold but with the fused remains of both chieftains' skulls with the toxic ore, which he wore for all to see! The green-hued iron crown is now a prize above all other trophies from his corpse.
For generations he has ruled from that cavern, and the stories that surface-dwellers bring back from the deep — when they come back at all — paint a picture of something that defies description. He is enormous for a goblin, his body twisted and swollen by decades of exposure to the toxic energy that pools at his throne, his skin the same deep poison-green as the runoff that first gave him his power.
Goblins of the Underworld have long been known as creatures capable of surprising cunning, descended from the failed utopian experiment of Baron Cabirus whose dream of goblin, troll, and human coexistence collapsed into bitter feuding and darkness...
The King rules with an iron fist! He does not negotiate. He does not parley. Those who enter his throne room in the deep cavern of TerMur find themselves facing a barrage of bones before the first word is spoken, each one thrown with the precision of a creature who has practiced the toxic art, each one carrying within it the potential to spawn a warrior, a shaman, or a war chief depending on how quickly the unlucky visitor can draw a blade.
The Crown of the Goblin King, the only treasure he has ever permitted to leave his cavern, leaves only when his corpse does — and in the entire recorded history of UO Evolution, fewer adventurers have held it than can be counted on your hand.
Goblin King Throne Room
Deep in the Underworld the Goblin King sits on his throne hoarding all of his treasure and enslaving his minions in the mining tunnels
Enter if you dare! The Goblin King is a formidable foe and will attempt to eat you and your pets!
Goblin King
Animated Bone Throwing is his main attack. The King hurls undead Goblin Bones at his opponents in a 12-tile radius every 15–20 seconds. Each bones item lands at the target's feet and triggers after 10 seconds. Players have those 10 seconds to hit it with a bladed weapon or it spawns:
Cuts Made:
- 0 cuts Goblin War Chief — the nastiest
- 1 cut Goblin Shaman — caster/poisoner
- 2 cuts Goblin Scout — weak melee
- 3 cuts Destroyed — nothing spawns
The Goblin King's Mushroom Wither fires every 20–35 seconds hitting all players within 4 tiles. Deals 20–40 poison/cold split damage, applies Lethal Poison with 40% chance, and drains stamina — a direct adaptation of the Necro Wither attack with goblin flavor.
Goblin Curse (Blood Oath equivalent) curses one random player every 25–40 seconds. While cursed, 50% of all melee damage they deal to the King bounces back at them — matching the Blood Oath reflection rate. Curse lasts 10 seconds with a message when it fades...
Passive 5% Damage Reflection — both melee and spell, matching the Dark Father's documented passive reflection exactly.
Phase System
At 66% HP the King spawns a wave of 2 random minions and speeds up all timers. At 33% HP he spawns 3 more minions, triggers a dramatic visual, and broadcasts a shard-wide message telling everyone he's almost dead — generating urgency during the battle and the the kill!
Loot
Two Ultra Rich loot packs plus 2,200–3,000 gold, plus a unique Crown Of The Goblin King item that can drop.
