Market System

What is the Market Place?

The Virtual Market Place is a system that will allow players to randomly buy items daily from a gump in-game

This Market system will have virtually every item on the shard rotated randomly

Use the [market command to open the gump

You will see several items on the display, that are only available to you, at a random price. You must determine if it is a "good deal" or not. The items change daily and are available for 24 hours for you to buy.

The items that are for sale are random for each player, what player A can buy is different then what player B can buy. Even if both items were the same the price could be different as well

This system will encourage players to log in and open the gump daily. Players will then have a chance to buy/sell items and compare gumps, which drives communication and trading between players

Market Slots

Players start with market 2 slots that appear in your personal gump

You can get more market slots, up to a max of 8 slots per account

You can get more slots by purchasing them on the market gump

Each day, based on the number of market slots you have available, you will see a variety of items, randomly selected and available for you to buy at that price for the day.

You can also use the refresh button, at a cost of 25ed per use, to see new items that are available

If you buy an item, that slot will be "locked" until the next market system reset at midnight

You can only buy a max of 8 items in a 24 hour period

Secret Markets

This system will also be used for Secret Vendor stones in the future, I have some ideas how to expand this to make a bit fun to find secret places

You can now find secret markets in-game. They are open at random times, so check often.

  • British Crowns - Stand inside Britain Bank and type [market
  • Vecna's Tomb - Secret market in Vecna's Tomb, use the [market command near the altar

Market Jackpot

Each purchase made on the virtual market will add a portion of Evolution Dollars spent into a Market Jackpot. At the end of the day one of the purchasers will win the jackpot! All this info will be displayed in the main gump. The winner will be announced in public chat and the ED reward will be auto delivered to the winner's pack.

Reward Chest

What is a daily Reward Chest?

A player can earn keys to "unlock" daily reward chests. You get keys by doing tasks/events and for participating in staff events(Pet Wars, Hunger Games, etc

You can also earn keys by visiting the market place or completing your daily task goal which unlocks and rewards you with a chest.

Your reward chest will increase in level the more keys you use on it. There are rare rewards in the chests that will only be found in this system.

Market Economy

This Market System should solve one of the shard's most complicated issues regarding the distribution of rare items to all the players fairly. This system will also help stimulate the economy and trade between players

Market Currency

Initially the market has been set up with Evolution Dollars and Market Dollars, but has been coded to add other types of currencies for future expansion

Market Place Dollars(MPD)

Market Place Dollars are bonus currency obtained from auctions, events and as a bonus from donating. They are similar to Evolution Dollars, but can only be spent in the Market System, using the command [market

You can also use them to "refresh" the exclusive random items on your market gump for 25 ED/MPD

The [market system was designed for players to have access to buying top rare items at random/lower prices and then resell to the public/players. The idea was to let people have access to all items in game to buy/sell and create a good player economy and give a way to earn large amounts of ED on a transaction without donation!

Market Pricing and Refunds

The market pricing is set based on the live auctions. Make sure you understand that the price may be high or low at any given time. This is on purpose to set the high cap of items and to control inflation. You may also look and find a great deal.

Make sure you are careful when purchasing, all sales are final and no refunds once you buy!
