Fishing Loot

• Normal Fish - These fish come in four colors. They each will give 4 raw fish steaks each when cut with a bladed weapon.
• Highly Peculiar Fish - Restores your stamina by 10.
• Prized Fish - Raises your intelligence by 8 - 12% for 150 seconds.
• Truly Rare Fish - Raises your strength by 8 - 12% for 150 seconds.
• Wondrous Fish - Raises your dexterity by 8 - 12% for 150 seconds.

Message in a Bottle (MIB), SOS, Pirate Treasure Maps and other rare items can also be caught. There are also some very rare items that can be caught during the fishing tournaments

The Woodcrafting system or "whittling", allows you to create some wood deco items. You need to collect "Driftwood" by using the custom fishing system

MIB / SOS / Treasure Maps

You can find a Message In A Bottle (MIB) by raising your Fishing skill to 80 or above, sailing out into deep water and fishing up Sea Serpents. Each time you get a serpent you will have a chance to get a Message in a Bottle, Special Fishing Net, or a Treasure Map. You will need to kill the serpent and loot the item from its corpse.

A More effective way to obtain a Message in a Bottle is to collect Special Fishing Nets and throw them into deep water near your boat by double clicking the net and targeting the water. Each net has a chance to pull up 1 or more Krakens which always has another net on their corpse and a higher chance for a MIB drop.

You can also get a Message in a Bottle by doing Treasure Maps, Gold Panning, and receiving them as a reward from an aquarium you own.

Ancient SOS

After obtaining a Message in a Bottle, double click it to reveal a Waterstained SOS or, on a 1 in 25 chance, an Ancient SOS, which will appear in your pack. Double click the SOS and you will see coordinates to a location in the ocean. In order to find the location you will need to have UO Automap opened or a sextant.

Once you have your destination marked, sail to the location and start fishing within 10 tiles of the coordinates. You can fish up the chest with 0 Fishing, but it will take longer. It is recommended to have 65 Fishing or higher.

While attempting to bring up the chest, you may on occasion bring up other bits of random items with the special tag Recovered from a Shipwreck.

The Ancient SOS's will lead to a chest that contains the same loot as a Waterstained SOS chest, plus a Fabled Fishing Net.

Fabled Fishing Net

• The special/fabled fishing net now has a chance to summon Osiredon, the Scalis Enforcer or a Leviathan.
  
• Upon being killed Osiredon will have a chance to drop special artifacts into your backpack.
  
• Osiredon is a formidable creature from the depths who has a chance to drop multiple (15+) OSI based artifacts that have been tweaked to Evolution standards.

This system has been expanded to include the weight, date and time stamp to do fishing tournaments!

We have now added additional rewards and rares to the fishing system

Fishing Tournament

This automated Fishing Tournament event is started every other day and anyone can join in. The tournament lasts for 24 hours

There is a time limit to catch the largest/heaviest fish

Turn in your big fish to the NPC "Denver" at the Buccaneer's Den Docks

The more players that enter the greater the reward. You can turn in multiple times if the fish is larger than previously turned in.

The winner at the end of the timer will automatically receive a prize!

Earn Bonus Traits! Every time you turn in a fish, you have a chance to get a Trait System buff

• Siren's Kiss Trait: Max 3 Tiers, gives a fishing bonus and a bonus to the weight of Big Fish caught

When turning in a Big Fish, even if it isn't enough to take the lead, you have a chance of gaining the Siren's Kiss Trait for 6 hours

Bonus Fishing Gear

There are many items, and high luck, that can increase your fishing success. Look for +skill gear, win the tournament, find magic fishing poles and earn the bonus fishing traits from turning in big fish

The wise fisherman "Tiger" has noted the best fishing comes from 200+ fishing skill, speak with him for "big fish" stories

Fishing Store

There is a "fishing store" located in the shipwright shop, south of Britain Bank. You will find many fishing items and deco on multiple vendor stones
