Evolution has been set up in such a way that traveling in Felucca is akin to going on a picnic. A picnic in a land eternally in the season of Fall, decorated with blood, bones, body parts, mass grave sites, and a forecast calling for a 30% chance of murder. But a picnic nonetheless.
Well, how can I make the most of a vacation in Felucca without losing any of my precious goodies? I thought you'd never ask. Here are a few things you can do:
-
Insure your items. Single left-click your avatar and "Toggle Item Insurance". Insure items such as your equipment, your storage keys, and anything else you don't want to be left on your corpse after you die. Remember to activate "Renewing Inventory Insurance" on that same menu as well as keeping a sufficient amount of gold in your gold ledger to pay for it each time you die.
-
Blue Loot Bag. This is a blessed bag and anything inside it stays with you when you die. Uninsured items can still be stolen out of it.
-
Bag of Holding. Same as the loot bag, it is a blessed bag, but has the added advantage of making everything inside it weigh nothing. Uninsured items can still be stolen out of it.
-
Bank Crystal. Allows you to access your bank from anywhere.
-
Bag of Sending. It is obtained from the Ambitious Solen Queen quest. When charged, it will send items you place in it to your bank box.
-
Storage Keys. When insured, you will keep these after death. The keys in game hold a variety of items, mostly related to crafting. Whether it be reagents, logs, hides, etc you can immediately store these items to reduce your carrying weight in addition to safely storing them should you meet an untimely demise.
Being killed in Felucca has been reduced to a mere inconvenience (compared to the days of yore) if you take the time to educate yourself and remain vigilant about protecting your loot. The feelings of unease, not knowing if or when someone will arrive with malicious intent, are an intended part of the Felucca experience. As for how to deal with that tension or the sting of defeat? Take up gardening or perhaps a visit the wonderful ladies of the Buccaneer's Bathhouse to unwind.
