Greetings Jagger! Sorry for the delay in response, but I am sure more are to come.
My all time favorite event here is the fabled "Hunger Games", and games of that sort. Sure they take a little while, but they tend to have a great turnout, and offer a great time for those we have not had the time or ED in game to participate in some PvP action!
Capture the Flag is one that had been common on other shards, and something that could lend itself well here. I've heard it mentioned by other players too.
Bomberman is always a blast!
Engaging new players in fun ways like Dungeon Crawls may be a good way to help newer players familiarize themselves with less than common areas. Sure, the new player Champ Spawns are great, but an old fashioned dungeon crawl leading up to a special "mini boss" at the end may give new players a feeling of accomplishment AND help them discover places they'd never thought they'd love.
