The "today" system gump pops up when you log in and will show you the quest of the day.  You have til midnight to complete the instructions for a prize.  Read the info each day

Here is an example:

Kane has created another event for the "today" system and will be testing starting at 4pm.  The objective is to kill orcs!  Use the [today command in-game and read the directions.  As Kane says, "the only good orc is a dead orc!"
