A new Exposition is on the horizon and it comes in the form of the Mistas Homebrew Festival! Read up on the lore here.

How do I participate in the Mistas Homebrew Festival?

  • Opens September 20th to October 7th
You will find a gate that will transport you to the Mistas Homebrew Festival. Once there, you will have to pass through a security checkpoint and submit to an Item Bank Tile, which will deposit all your items into your bank.

Special Event Schedule
During the Mistas Homebrew Festival, you may only use what you find in the event area. No weapons are allowed, only your fists. Please do not take advantage of this... if you are reported and/or caught using weapons or bending the rules, you will suffer consequences rather left unsaid.

Rules
  • No PvP/PK allowed (unless it's for a specific event)
  • No using weapons, only what is found in the event area.
  • Be considerate when using the Restrooms and Ankh Services building... don't hoard potions if others need them
Survival Tips
  • Turn OFF Auto Renew Item Insurance while visiting the Event Area to save on Gold
  • Make sure to turn it back ON after you leave and get back to your normal adventures
  • The Restrooms and Ankh Services building near the Legendary Tents has an ankh, resurrection stone, and various potions to get you brawling quickly again!
  • Loot and use all the potions you come across, as they will be essential to your survival.
  • Hiding and Stealth are allowed and encouraged. They were essential skills in the actual lore of the recovery of Mistas and will do you well during the festivities.
  • Use the Spirit Speak skill near corpses to maximize your health recovery.
  • Use your fists and (secondary) ability to deliver a Paralyzing Blow to your foes and stun them temporarily.
  • Use the various stone rewards to purchase potions that can turn the tide of battle in your favor.
There will be new custom stealables, items and fun events so make sure to participate! We’re here to have fun and enjoy a unique experience! Please respect that and also provide any feedback you have about the event on this forum.

First let me say Thank You Expo for letting me test/see a little of this great event you have planned for all of us. The way he has things will make HUGE fun for old and new players. Fists only, no sneaking in items, more of an equal field for all to battle and enjoy, items of interest! hahahahahaha I did not see EVERYTHING, got to battle with of few of his creations but he wanted to let some be a surprise. I do however think, knowing Expo, things will get OUT-THE-BOX somewhere along the roads or paths of  The Mistas Homebrew Festival!! I cannot wait till it is open, which is September 20th through October 6th.

PS, Get lots of bandies if you can but do not be rude and please share. Bandies are your friend!

Grand Opening of the Mistas Homebrew Festival - Pub Crawl!

We had a great showing at the grand opening of the Homebrew Festival. Everyone had to nude it up and get ready to have an intoxicating time! After a few brews, we had to make our way to the Restrooms and Ankh services to get prepared for the festival.

An unforeseen occurrence happened but it made the night even more epic... there was a tie between Emperor Norton and Lauransila with the most collected Homebrew Festival Premium Blend Kegs. What better way to settle this than with an impromptu Jousting Duel. With everyone gathered, the two combatants battled each other but with one bold strike, Emperor Norton was able to dismount Lauransila and claim the title of the Champion Pub Crawler of the night!

Everyone received a great prize and are welcomed to return to the next Mistas Homebrew Festival event! It was quite a blast!

If you'd like to see all the pictures I took from the event, check them out here! Lots of candid ones, hints to some collectibles and just fun times!

Thanks Expo for a AWSOME event for all types of players this was exciteing to see a even playing field just for a PvM event but you pulled it off quite well. what made it nice for me is it was nearly a hour + long and them endurance events allways are a blast. keep up the great events and hard work you do for EVO your pal [KrazyG The Immortal Beast].

It truly was an epic event Expo!  The potions flying from every direction to take down the dreaded Paragon Pub Crawlers, they endless scavenging for more explosion potions, the sinking feeling when you had run out of bandages and were forced to retreat to the unexpected safety of a bathroom!  It was a blast (no pun intended), those explosion and conflagration potions were awesome!

The showdown with my rival Lauransila was a great ending!

Folks had asked what the Gran Prize was that I had received after the dust had settled, so here is a pic:

The entire Mistas Banner!  Displayed proudly in the garden of my home, and of course the lance I had used to dismount the Honorable Lauransila.

It just so happens that the first Pub Crawl was resolved with a Joust, now it's time for everyone else to partake in a drunken jousting competition!!

This event is friendly for all levels of play, but being well versed in Fencing (and other melee combat related skills) will prove to be an asset. Noble steeds and lances will be supplied at the event as well as the finest brews of the Mistas Homebrew Festival!

Can't wait!  I'll do everything I can to attend the event!  I must defend my honor!  The banner looks great too Expo, events like this are why Evolution is my UO home.  Keep up the great work staff!  There's always something new to experience, and the variety keeps things fresh.  From Joker's Bomberman and Gate Jumps, to Zoe's Hide n' Seek (and fine baked goods) and of course the frequent Event Champs, there's a little something for everyone.

Mistas Homebrew Festival - Jousting Competition!

Many came to duel in the honorable fashion of Jousting.

Starting in Mistas, the competitors eventually ended up in a dark, secluded cave in Felucca to finish the competition. In the end, the winner of the Jousting competition was Jules infernalis! Congrats and thanks to everyone that attended the event!

Apologies but unfortunately the Crossbow Competition has to be cancelled due to real life issues coming up at the last minute. I also realized my second laptop does not have the client and at the rate it's going, I won't be around tonight. I'll move it to another day and post the info then.

Adios.

This event broke a record for me.... it was the quickest event I can recall doing in almost 3 years of GMing on Evo. And not in a bad way at all. Just great and to the point!

I did say this would just be a horse race and that's why it was just that. No obstacles of any kind, no flaming pillars of agony, no giant spikes that could put down an Ancient Dragon, no nothing. Just perhaps the energy field of impatience, other racers and the walls... and wow was it enjoyable to watch all the same!

In the end, riding on his Andalusian horse, DarkDjinn narrowly defeated a distracted Ganja Farmer for the prize of a Mistas Homebrew Festival Banner and the title of a Homebrew Champion!

Thanks to all that came and we'll see you for the next event... the COOKOFF!!

Congrats to ShadeSeraph on winning the Cookoff Competition! It was actually REALLY close with Domino leading most of the way but unable to obtain properly raw chicken legs.

The participants, which appeared to be drones of Expo, all varied in cooking experience, but tried their best... even though some attempted to cover up burn marks on the cheese pizza or pass off the under-cooked ribs for "medium-well".

It was quite an enjoyable event and prizes went all around. I might do this type of event again because it was actually something I haven't seen before and was much different than "typical" events.

Anyways, thanks to all that attended and see you for the next Festival event!

Check out all the pictures of the event at this link!!

Mistas Homebrew Festival - Last Call!

The final event of the Festival was reminiscent of the Pub Crawl, except this time the two festival goers with the most collected Premium Kegs would battle it out in a Blunted Bar Brawl. Once the streets were cleared of the vermin, inebriated tourists, wenches, locals and pub crawlers, the stage was set for Simba and Emperor Norton to begin combat!

Ultimately, Emperor Norton bludgeoned Simba to death and took the title of Last Call Champion of the Mistas Homebrew Festival! Having also been the only person to win before, he was awarded the complete set of Mistas Homebrew Festival Drinking Chalice floor tiles! Congrats to him and everyone else that attended these events.

Mistas will be reopened as it normally was before but you might see remnants of the Festival.... which may return some day!

thank you expo for this great festival, i did not see all the events but the ones i made it to have been alot of fun
stuff like this keep UO interesting, without staff that take time to think/code/set up and host fun events this game would get old and boring
