This event is part of September 2015 being deemed Pirate month!

Buc's Den is well known for its relaxed stance on monetary gain, turning a blind eye to certain types of business deals, ones that can generate a huge profit but with hefty risk involved. Cuthroat tactics is the law of the land and if the price is right, you know folks are buying. As luck would have it, an eccentric and quite often inebriated, yet undeniably resourceful merchant by the name of Bootleg Jenkins has set up shop in Buc's Den and is looking to hire buccaneers to salvage cargo from "an unfortunate accident" at Skull Isle, just east of the docks.



Are you a swashbuckler or a sad landlubber? Prove ye worth and ye'll be rewarded for the effort!

Objectives:
Recover cargo from the merchant ship wreckage at Skull Island.
The heavier the cargo, the more Bootleg Jenkins will pay.
Return the cargo to Bootleg before time (15 minutes per round) runs out.

Cargo:

• 1 pt - Sealed Strong Box (50 stones each)
• 3 pts - Undamaged Crate (75 stones each)
• 5 pts - Leakproof Barrel of Rum (100 stones each)

• Players must step on the Item Bank Tile which will transfer all their items to their bank.
• Buccaneer outfits will be given out so you are not completely in the nude. Several members of the Tailor's Guild of Sosaria including Thruon, Shena, Draken and others were able to design and produce uniforms on very short notice. Many thanks for their assistance!
• Small boat deeds will be donated by Bootleg Jenkins to assist in acquisition of any treasures.
• This is a Free-for-all (FFA) event. Try to put your allegiances aside (we’re at Buc’s Den) and have fun in a privateer way!
• Collecting smaller cargo is quicker and weighs less but does not give as many points as the large cargo. Choose wisely!
• Monster spawn is very weak. Muster up ye courage and send them to the gallows!

Rules:

• NO looting of any player corpses (besides your own). This includes guildmates, party members, etc.
• NO stealing.
• NO spell casting.
• NO auto looping macros.
• You are allowed to use Spirit Speak to heal yourself.
• You are allowed to use Hiding and Stealth.
• You are allowed to use any loot found on monsters.
• You are NOT allowed to steal cargo from another player’s backpack.
• You are allowed to take any cargo that a player drops on the ground.
• Let me reiterate this rule because it’ll probably cause frustration from folks but it’s part of the event. We are Pirates in Buc’s Den after all. If a player is “leapfrogging” cargo towards their ship and you are hidden, YES you CAN take it for your own but remember this might not be the best strategy although it IS allowed.
• Once cargo is on someone’s ship you are NOT allowed to take/touch/move it.
• If you do not make it back to Bootleg’s Grotto before time runs out, your cargo will not count but you will still receive a prize.
• Tilt back a pint or four and have a good time!

The port of Buc's Den was rife with activity as the buccaneers returned from plundering the doomed merchant ship. (This is also my favorite picture as it was what I envisioned in my head would happen and it looked magnificent!)



The winners were being announced.  In the chaos of the loot counting and point giving, Bootleg somehow managed to switch out the cargo with replicas filled with stones! Why would he have done this? What was actually in the cargo?! The scores were:

For those of you that did not have the chance to do this event...you really missed out!


It was a ton of fun (even though I started late..my fault!) and Expo did a great job with it. I am hoping he does it a few more times before the Pirate month is over!
