Not sure where to place this, but I wonder how many people realize that if you don't delete your treasure chest while treasure hunting the spot isn't available for the next player for a while.  I'm not sure how to fix this, but I was thinking a friendly reminder somewhere for those that might not know.  Since there have been more things done with the treasure chests, more are out hunting.

If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.  :)

Thanks!

Usually you could click the chest and choose remove once you are done. Thus releasing the spot.

But I remember this problem even on OSI, the other thing people do as well is pull the mods out and leave the. I remember running round Brit woods and coming across a Ancient Wrym before. Not fun when I was in my Lumberjack gear!

Ack - that would suck!

When I'm out treasure hunting, I always click to get rid of it.  But I came across 3 yesterday that were still there and I couldn't dig for because the last one was still there.  Just wondering if there was a way to let people know who might not realize how to delete them.

Knowing how to delete the treasure chest is the first measure of course.

A reprisal should be the second measure, however.

The final step should be a back-up plan for weird instances that are not covered by the second measure.

  How I see the changes:

First Measure = realize that not everyone knows how to delete a treasure map chest. Put this information on the Wiki for starters.

Second Measure = the reprisal, should be fair, yet firm. Only one treasure chest can be opened at a time.

Final Measure = The fail safe, would be to allow players to use the skill Forensic Evaluate, on dug up treasure chests in their way, which would start a decay timer for that treasure chest.

  Addition Thought/Examples:

Example [A] (Second Measure): Fair Faced Jack is out treasure hunting. He finds the treasures spot, digs it up, kills the guardians, picks the lock, and loots the chest empty. Afterwards, in his excitement to get to the next treasure site, he has forgotten to delete the old treasure chest. However, once he finds the new spot, and tries to dig up the next treasure chest, he is given the following message.

"Would you like to remove the last treasure chest you dug up?  Yes ☼ No ☼  --{at the bottom of this message, in large enough print should be the following:}--

:Note: if no, than you will be unable to dig up any other chests until you are finished with the old one.

Example (Final Measure):

Janey is out treasure hunting and finds the spot she needs in order to dig up her treasure. However, it would seem some one has already dug up her treasure. A closer look reassures her that her first assumption is wrong. She is relieved but stuck with a new problem, she is only one person, and this old treasure chest weighs a ton. How is she going to move it.

Janey uses her keen observations, and local knowledge of known area treasure hunters {Forensic Evaluation skill} to determine who left this discarded heap.

:Note: Using Forensic Evaluation on the old treasure chest should send the same message as in Example [A] to the person involved. However, additional information should be added to the message and the note below it.

Additions 1 = the persons name requesting the chest be removed.

Additions 2 = the bottom note should be changed to reflect that the owner of the old chest has X amount of time to return to it, and remove an item from it, before it decays and is gone forever. :Note: if there are no items present than the timer can not be halted.

Reasons = the reason for addition 1 is to allow players to PM each other, while the reason for addition 2 is to allow two things to happen. The first is to allow the owner enough time to completely loot the treasure chests they dig up, and the second is to allow the next person in line a timely opportunity to do so, as well.

Sorry this post is the length of a Bible, but thanks for reading, and as always; feedback is always read through.

I think that's a good idea also.. maybe a 15 sec timer after a chest is 0/400 where it will give u the pop asking if u want to remove it.

I agree, some great methods. I don't think anyone would disagree to have those implemented.
