im aware of the chat options. i think you missed my point.

i would still like to use the public channel. i just dont wanna hear about someone selling pharoh sandles every ten minutes 100 times a day.

just seems like a lot less work to add a trade chat channel eveyone can use for a purpose and/or block specific type of chat, rather than for individuals to go through and block certain players while they are spamming and remembering to unblock them later.

if its a lot off work its no big deal. just seems like a great solution to something that gets irritating after a while.

I see truth on both sides of this conversation. Yes the constant repetition of ads plaguing global chat are very annoying at times & Yes creating another chat channel doesn't resolve the issue, it only moves it to a new location. Perhaps the problem already has an existing solution, but requires a different perspective... If a player is afk (either in bed or at work) and has set up a macro to advertise items and wares for sale with sufficient delays to skate under the "spam" radar.... Two very simple and easy methods will help to minimize it at the source. This technique is not so different from unattended resource gathering & should the powers that be decide to treat it as such, the player(s) who fail to respond in a timely fashion could be jailed and gagged. Likewise from the stand point of the players, if a certain person or people use methods to sell things that you find bothersome or annoying... simply refuse to do any business with them and encourage your friends/guildmates to do the same.
While either of these methods would go far to reduce this problem, I feel a combination of both have the potential to eliminate it entirely.

yep bottom line is 30 minutes between sale spam is my rule as most know I try and get others to follow that as well.  However there are a few folks who seem to continually ignore this bit of logic.
