I like the idea of a purge... but in regards to others being opposed to it; perhaps it should be less like PvP and more like PvM.
The purge would be done by the town Guards. In effect making towns unsafe for a period of time. {bank sitters be ware!}
~Guard type's: Guard Recruit, Veteran, Sergent at Arms, and Captain of the Guard.
~Each guard type would be a certain difficulty level, and the guards damage would be reduced to fit the events fun level. [I.E. no insta guard whacked]
~Loot from the NPC guards could be simple things like Guard Tunic: Vesper, basically decoration, and even a few new items that are worth having; like a weapon or armor piece.
~ As I have never killed a guard, I have to imagine they have to have gold and tokens to pay the bills. This would also add to the loot list.
~Killing other players on this day of Purge, would not grant murder counts.
~Purge cities would consist of: all Trammel, all Felucca, Luna, Umbra, Gargoyle , Tokuno and TerMur Cities. The purge should consist of all these cities, at random, a few at a time, until all Captains of the Guard have been downed.
~Downing a Captain of the Guard signals the end of a cities purge for the Purge event. Captains of the Guard should have their own special loot tables. I only suggest that a 'Certificate of Pardon' be on that list.
~A 'Certificate of Pardon' grants the user a decrease in murder counts by 1, this item can only be used once every 12 - 24 hours. Should also be allowed to be traded.
I only hope this is in the right direction, and truly would love to see something like it here on EVO.
