When I played Anarchy online one of the things that one lead dev started that I loved was a monthly dev update.  In that the lead dev would basically give a little look at what all was being worked on it would shed light as to what direction they were trying to take the game.

I think something like that would help Evolution (seeing as it is a beta server in constant changing state) in that the a lot of stuff that is going on behind the scene that players do not know about kind of come to the surface.

Sadly this does take some time out of an already busy schedule but I always found it to be a nice addition and players had a better grasp of things that went on (the guy who started it also did weekly updates which might have been a bit much).

I do like this idea. However we are trying to post shard updates at least once every two weeks in the "shard updates" section.

The problem with doing a "monthly update" or showing you guys behind the scenes is that everything is always changing and evolving. Something we work on and develop a fix for or create out right may change  in numerous ways before actually hitting the shard.

I do enjoy being accountable to everyone with the work that we are doing. The problem is that we have a lot of people who really enjoy picking apart everything we do and I feel that adding a "Pre-publish" or any form of board in which you read on what we are potentially going to have in the next update would simply cause more problems than it solves.

For now I personally believe the shard updates and patch note method we use is best.
