So, you spend hours farming, let's say it's the Steel Harpies. After 10 Steel feathers finally drop you excitedly rush to turn them in. You get to the quest giver, you turn in your feathers and...+4 tactics helm. Oh. Neat.
That is the most frustrating thing. I get balance. Completely understand. But, what if there was a way to make that helm better so it wasn't just collecting dust in your house?
What I propose is you can upgrade that item to the max. So, in this example. You go back out. Farm more Harpies. A feather finally drops. You dbl click the feather and target that previously mentioned helm. Now, instead of +4 it's +5. Ok! Cool! So you can eventually get this item up to the max stat bonus it is supposed to be.
Obviously the Steelskin items are just an example. You could do this with any other random stat item. Like Grizzly's rage and any others. I even would understand if for balance reasons you couldn't have it be a 1 quest item to 1 point ratio. You guys understand the balance of the game better than I. Just a suggestion to alleviate some of us frustrated with that wasted time farming.
And, I also understand that UO is supposed to be a game where it takes time to get powerful. I'm not trying to take that away. But it's much nicer if you feel like you're always working towards something and not that those last few hours spent farming items wasn't all for naught. Thanks for reading!
