What about a popup window that show up upon logging in. There could be listed the "updates" whit the links to them, special kind of event upcoming etc.
There is a message of the day that you click on when u log in??
On a side note, a more arranged way of listing the change/patch/updates could be nice. Having them at a more frequent pace (some change takes weeks before they are posted) could show new players how the shard is getting worked on.
I only list the changes AFTER it is done, there is nothing worse than announcing something and have 3000 accts ask you daily "when is it coming!"
