I propose that pets maximum skills, stats, resists etc be determined by there pet slots when breeding or leveling.

Reasons, most if not all pets are exactly the same once leveled up and properly bred, the only difference being there special abilities and the slots that they take up.

For example take a regular Nightmare 2 slots, and a regular Dragon 3 slots. Breed them level them up and there is absolutely no difference in the final products *with the exception of damage types* however the nightmare being 2 slot and mountable clearly wins no contest.

That is the most obvious example but the trend continues with almost every single pet, the cu sidhe for instance when compared to other pet's it's bonuses consist of healing, a great ability to be true but 4 of your 5 slots worth?

The effect of the normalization of all pets is most noticeable in that people use pack instinct pets much more than any other, not just because they deal incredibly high damage but because there are absolutely no disadvantageous to outweigh there incredible damage output. Why would i use a tanky dragon when i could use 3 hounds deal more damage and not lose out on the effective survival of my pets?

I doubt that i managed to word this well enough to get my point across so let me put it in better terms, I can breed a RABBIT that can perform just as well as my hiryu a 4 slot pet (or close enough to not matter) yes i can mount said hiryu and he technically has a lower physical resist ability but 1 slot vs 4 slots.

I don't want to see my hiryu buffed i want to see the rabbit nerfed.

Some slight ideas numbers wise.

200 hp max per slot, 40 resist + 5 per pet slot, 100 skill cap +5 per pet slot.

These numbers obviously are not perfect and could and would vary depending on the pet, whether it had magery, poisoning, special abilities, mountable etc.

I am already working on a system like what you describe

So a fix like this will hurt those of us who donated enough to get 10 total pet slots so we could run 2 greater dragons?  Now if my GD is leveled up I'll only be able to use one of them if I am reading into this system correctly.

Yea not a real fan of that idea.
No, this should not effect current pets, Im working on the least disruption or changes

Gratz on the greater dragons the point of the change would be to make it so my 10 bunny rabbits aren't a better option in nearly every way then your 2 greater dragons.

I will add dark silence in your specific case, using a ancient fire steed with high wrestling to tank, and 2 rune beetles plus a mount of your choosing will beat your 2 5 slot pets in every single way damage and survivability as well as the fact that now your not running around on foot.

lower slot pets should only beat higher slot pets by giving up something, for example hell hounds and other pack animals are supposed to be the unmitigated kings of damage, they are also supposed to die to the first thing that even *looks at them wrong*

I do no envy the person/people in charge of balancing this it is a complicated issue that is more about the feel of the creatures rather then actual numbers.

Ahh I get what you are saying now.

So for example my two GD in theory should be better than say 10 max level bunnies.  Not so much that I wouldn't be able to have the 2 GD moreso that if someone had 10 bunnies they wouldn't keep up with the bigger slot using pets.

Yes, the only time 1 slots should keep up is if there is something special involved like pack instinct for example. But as it stands pack instinct pets are just as tanky as your big pets so they don't actually give anything up for that power.

Love that your already working on changes to the current system and can't wait to see them, good luck figuring it out.

One thing I have noticed in the pet leveling is the Special Attacks, seems that Firebreathis the only one that works. From what I have been told the pet has to have the ability to start and from what I have been able to find firebreath is the only abilty out there. It is on Ancient Firesteeds , Reptalons and Dragons I think.

Anyone seen the other two work at all on any pets?

I think special atacks only work on evo dragons or atleast some ppl told me that. But for now i think pets agans pve are pretty fine balanced ,after Dante remove traped ice hounds .Dont make some radical changes ,because 80% of ppl like it now and if u make some changes ,ppl will be mad for sure.If possible Dante to tell us wich special atack works on what kind of pets.
