I propose that pets maximum skills, stats, resists etc be determined by there pet slots when breeding or leveling.
Reasons, most if not all pets are exactly the same once leveled up and properly bred, the only difference being there special abilities and the slots that they take up.
For example take a regular Nightmare 2 slots, and a regular Dragon 3 slots. Breed them level them up and there is absolutely no difference in the final products *with the exception of damage types* however the nightmare being 2 slot and mountable clearly wins no contest.
That is the most obvious example but the trend continues with almost every single pet, the cu sidhe for instance when compared to other pet's it's bonuses consist of healing, a great ability to be true but 4 of your 5 slots worth?
The effect of the normalization of all pets is most noticeable in that people use pack instinct pets much more than any other, not just because they deal incredibly high damage but because there are absolutely no disadvantageous to outweigh there incredible damage output. Why would i use a tanky dragon when i could use 3 hounds deal more damage and not lose out on the effective survival of my pets?
I doubt that i managed to word this well enough to get my point across so let me put it in better terms, I can breed a RABBIT that can perform just as well as my hiryu a 4 slot pet (or close enough to not matter) yes i can mount said hiryu and he technically has a lower physical resist ability but 1 slot vs 4 slots.
I don't want to see my hiryu buffed i want to see the rabbit nerfed.
