I really enjoy doing these but for the time and effort put into them the reward is not fair.

1. You fish or pan up a mib.
2. Figure out where it is.
3. Locate closest city to launch boat from.
4. Head towards spot.
5. Watch out for house.
6. Kill creatures in area.
7. Fish up chest.
8. Put good stuff in key.
9. Put crap in token bag (overweight)
10. Recall to deal with spell scrolls cause now they do not go away in token bag.
11. Put deco on vendor for an average of 1k.
12. Recall to boat to do it all over again.

The time vs reward is not worth it. Now a couple of ideas to mix it up a little. In my opinion, most players that do mibs are general going to have some crafting as well.
A. Add some bods or runic tools into chest.
B. Ancient mibs could have a similar loot table to the treasure chest.
C. Crafting clothing.
D. Various deco added into chest.
E. Increase gold amount or add tokens.
F. Crafting resources ie. ingots-wood-leather
G. Augs
H. 105 and 110 power scrolls

With making any of these changes, I think it will improve and bring new life into mibs. Also, as the rewards go up more creatures can be added to make it more challenging.

I. Water dragons: color blue, normal and greater depending up chest, more scale appearance, cold damage, greater having a 3 tile aoe cold damage, Tameable (gives the shard a new tame)
II. Water Hydra: same as current but with cold damage, nontameable.
III. Chest are locked. (always confused on who opened the lock on the chest while ship was sinking)

Again these are just my ideas. Would love for others in the community that do them to respond.

When I think of MIB's I think of the Spanish treasure fleet's during the 15th century.

Your list is not so bad, though I think some items don't make sense logically, and some are over powering.

I am a fan of change, because it means I have more things to do/enjoy each day I play UO.

My list:

1) Silver and copper bars; perhaps even gold bars. These items could be trade in's like how
Gold Panning works.

2) Ancient, Ornate, and Waterlogged/Priceless items. This would be new decorations, as well another viable way to turn something in and make a profit in gold. A combination of archeology and collectibles for a museum.

3) Pirates! Randomly rolled pirates hovering over the MIB location. YARR!

  That's all I got.
