I brought up the idea of updating our hue file some time ago, but at the time I was told it was simply not a priority, and it isn't a simple task of just updating the hues.


However, since then I have mentioned the idea to several players and they agree that they would love to see more hues on UO Evolution.  This is a relatively small project that will contrast nicely to the major projects that have been underway recently, and it is something the entire player base will enjoy.  This is something that is basic, but I guarantee the ED spent on the new hues would be well worth it.  You could even raise the prices for hue tickets!  Just please give us more hues, it has to be done eventually.


Players, if you understand that this will not be a simple project for the staff, but you also want to make make it known that it is that important to you, please post up saying, "Make a new hue file a priority please!"

Updated Hue file would be nice more colors=more variety= happy faces lol...lets fill in all the black tubs in the hue room  ;D

I know this has been requested for some time but if this could be made to happen, it would only add to the customization of the shard. I also recommend if the hue file is updated, to give a free hue room ticket to all players new and old so they can see the expansion in colors!

I feel this is definitely a priority. We have half a hue room that is completely black that are just begging to have an actual hue.

i miss my fire color 2543, there is close not same still ^^'

aye more hues pls .. i try post some hue codes later what i think is good to have

I don't think you quite understand how the hue's work within the client. Color is not determined by number, its determined by wherever we decide to place that color.


Next, just so you are all aware updating out patch would require everyone to redownload the entire client (OR) the hue file itself and replace the old one. Which obviously some people in the community lack the technical ability to do. (thus meaning a full client download)

I would agree, we are unsure of the requirements and work that this would take,but I would be more than happy to make a youtube video for players of the proper steps to required to gain the new hue system if it was implemented.

awe come on Kyn... I'm a pc idiot (Dante had to help me download, and Tiea walked me thru Teamspeak) and even I can open the hue download grab it, drag it onto my Evo file and drop it. my 2 year old did it on my last shard... (yes it was a file that wasnt meant for the shard, thus it told me it wasnt recognized)... but the point is, my kid did it. someone could make a youtube video showing how to update it

I agree that everyone on the shard is not as technically literate as your average primate, but I would say 95% are literate enough to replace a hue file.  Seriously.


You said it yourself, this has been brought up many times before, because players WANT this.  It NEEDS to happen.  We can't continue to avoid it because a small minority of the player base is going to need some extra direction.  Especially if other players are willing to go as far as making an instructional video to help out said minority. (Which I don't think will even be necessary.)


Replacing a hue file is just that, replacing a file.  This is basic maintenance.  By its name, UO Evolution cannot refuse progress because it considers a small minority of its population to be too weak to move forward.

This is turning into less of a suggestion and more of a demand. I agree that new Hue's would be awesome. Am I saying "NO" to the idea? Definitely not, I will see what I can put together.
