Can we re-implement the system were as when you leave a guild there is at least a week waiting period before joining another guild. It becomes a serious annoyance to have players join, jump ship and join a new guild all at once without a second thought. It puts a strain on any new guild wanting to start up as well as established guilds. A new guild would best benefit from this and would bring more guilds into the shard. Rather than have only a few guilds dominating the sever.

Oh come on now Blight you mean you don't want to get folks that join just to get "helped out" then they move on to the next best thing.

All joking aside there should be some sort of penalty for jumping guilds as you described.

get your guildies on TS. it wont prevent them from guild hopping but you can get a better idea of who they are and if they are worth your time.

Good option but some people do not have TS or have no way of communicating, ie no mic.
What really aggravates me to no end is when a player joins a guild and seems excited about being a part of said guild. Then with no after thought or remorse bail and hop ship after being provided with not just items but a family within the Evo community. This is not only a completely selfish and rude act, but also is detrimental to progressing for more and stable guilds.

It is 2013, there is no excuse for not having teamspeak or a working microphone. They can literally be purchased for $2.00 at the nearest walmart or dollar store.

While I agree with you that its cheap to buy a mic its even cheaper that players can up and bounce from guild to guild with no remorse or altercation. Maybe its just me and actually having a conscious that find this is not only a rude act but overall its not helpful towards the shard in general.

I don't think it affects the shard at all really.  It happens in almost every MMO that has guilds.
IMHO its the guilds job to set their own rules. Such as. You must be in the guild for a certain amount of time before obtaining gear or items.
You have to donate time/gold to a guild fund in order to receive blah blah at a discounted/free price.

If a guild looks like easy prey it will be. The way to combat it is not to let yourselves be open to being used. Its easy to do and you can't blame anyone but yourself.  Set limits and requirements. Problem solved.

Then if someone guild hops. They have to go at it all over again in the new guild of choice. IF that guild follows some sort of guide lines.

Otherwise deal with the theft of items/time. But it is your guilds own doing.

i think there are many steps one could take to prevent wasting their time with a guild hopper. i do not completely find it necessary, however i also do not oppose the OP suggestion that there be some sort of week long cool down between guild joinings. similar to factions. it would give time for the previous guild to spread reason why that player is not in their guild anymore before they join another.

and for players who DO wish to bounce between guilds. the proper way to do this is explain to your current guild why you have chosen to move on before you do. this action would minimize friction.

HI Blight You cannot stop other players from hopping to another guild but I do understand what you meant I dont like that too... For being to wait another week before they can join to another guild  I agree with that.... and I also agree with Meta concerning teamspeak is a great idea that way you know whos  who in your guild...we only do a guild events to those in our teamspeak... thats our rules must be on TS. if not they are not going to our guild event...
