I think for new players especially and so they don't get so frustrated as I have been the past week + from these super buffed gob thiefs we are encountering in certain areas where they are killing you with really decent gear with 2 hits 150+ dmg hits and that fire omg...Anyway helping people and myself usually every night to get their corpses to res them is getting a little on the nagging side when it comes down to the risk vs reward that this is giving, personally I think their should not be super buffed goblin thiefs  in a lot of areas we are trying to do kill tasks at, they hit even vet players extremely hard.

So this is what I have seen and witnessed in the last 1 week + of playing that all of a sudden we run into these super buffed green dudes who kill you very quickly and make it hard for a lot of folks. I don't generally go against Dev decisions but these guys are making headaches for a few of us. I like how it was prior to randomly buffing a few in certain spots that are epic super buffed.

So I ask can these super buffed gobs be taken back to before? It's funny it's not everyone that are buffed, you usually run into the buffed ones questing or doing kill tasks, they should not be as strong as a Mithril Dragon.

I kind of like the super hard ones. I have been away for a while and when I logged in a few days ago I sort of thought that the Goblin Thief's were a weak addition until one smoked me, then I ran around for another hour looking for more and developing a better system to kill the tough ones. I have always liked Kane's willingness to make different difficulties in mobs(like the Christmas gremlins from hell this last year). Stuff like this keeps the vets engaged too, and if these guys are in an area you want to hunt in you could always lure them away. As a side note if you are having trouble dying and having to ask people to rez you then I suggest investing some time in the spellweaving quests, Gift of Life is the greatest thing ever brought into Ultima.

Strategy--- running away--- grouping up-- asking questions

I suggest these be your new motives. While I might agree some areas should be considered New player friendly/only; when it comes to things like this, I'm not sure these green dudes need to be toned down.

First off, I hear what you are saying, and I understand. Growing pains can be a pain. Once you under stand what to do to down a green goblin, you will want more and more of them to spawn. It is that simple.

I suggest-- for all new players-- if you can't down something; walk or run away. Just leave it be... If it is in an area you want to hunt... Scream in World chat about it... some nice player will take it out for you.

Second, asking questions about tough monsters, will lead to better results when encountering them. Asking for the goblins to be toned down is not much different then asking for their removal. Eventually, with a toned down spawn... you will encounter them and then what?

Lets talk about Strategy... I suggest a group of players hunt together until they are considered veterans... All you need is a good healer, lots of bandages/potions, a brave tank, and more strategy.

PM me in game if you encounter more green dudes, or need ideas on how to take them out.

Sturger, I am not asking for them all to be toned down, just the that the super OP ones be removed from certain new player spots where new players hunt at to do tasks etc. See post, it doesn't say remove them. The super OP buff ones can stay but like I said in certain areas is bad to have them for new players.

Again, I am simply suggesting strategy, and the grouping up of players-- like yourself-- to get through the Goblin encounter's.

When I am online, I will gladly come and slay any green goblin's you encounter. I am sure there are many out there who would help you out in this way; if for no other reason then the lovely green coins, usually, found on their corpses.

For this simple reason, I disagree with toning down anything to do with the Green Goblins.

Use what you have available to you--the UOE community is just a chat box away-- and exhaust all avenue's before completely giving up on a situation.

Happily, those nasty thieves seemed to have taken up stock and moved from the wilds of Trammel.  My pets could handle them but it was no fun zoning into my house and there were one/two thieves wandering near my front door...lol  I'm glad they've found darker and more evil places more suited to their nasty dispositions. Good riddance to bad rubbish!  :)

When you see a Goblin toss down a poison field and stand in it, recasting as you need to.  The. Reason is another field cannot be on the same points as an existing field is, so you now have an area that the goblins fire field cannot effect.

You should be able to kill it easy enough after this point.
