Change the system. People flee when being attacked. Using their personal teleporter while being attacked is ridiculous.  Using moongates as well while being attacked. All I have on this issue.

Fleeing is a tactic.

You should be happy ... You win!

Change it so people can not run away from battle is what I am trying to say. People escape to easily.  Not trying to start an arguement, but people can jsut gate hop and use personal teleporters when being attacked.....

I think the personal teleporter main use is exactly to... escape from anywhere. Otherwise we could just recall to a gate somewhere in the world. In that case, the only use it would have is being used in Tram/Fel T2A map, but at 500ED... its kinda pretty expensive just for that.

If someone has engaged you in battle and you havn't reciprocated then you should be free to gate/recall, but if you engage in battle then you should not be able to gate/recall.

I paid 500ED for my personal tele to be able to tele me outta where and whenever.
If that makes life harder for pvpers, then find someone else to pk while your hunting in fel.

For example ,lets say some new player is doing Barracon and some very geared player is atacking him? What player suppose to do?No chance of winning because hes gear is not so good.So if he stay and fight he will die. If he run ,will be safe but he lose champ.Problem solve.

People flee because they dont wish to fight. It is perfectly alright. Expectially new players. If you wanna make it so people cant flee when you attack them perhaps people under a month should be unable to be attacked or attack other players unless they choose to relinquish that ability. Then they would be unable to be attacked by reds in fel and could build themselves up for a month and then be free game and unable to teleport out of a battle. Win-Win situation. And dont act like you dont do it either Dude.

yeah maybe players should be on the 'young' status that a lot of shards use for new players when they join.

Personally, I'm opposed to this.  My major preoccupation is seeking out new players, interacting and giving them a push in the right direction.  Some are new to UO and some don't need anything but LRC.  Giving all Young status invites abuse by those who would abuse/exploit.  Each player is different.  Some "new" people will not be new in a matter of hours and others will still be "new" for 6 months.  Young status is finite, with a definite expiration period.  But not everyone fits into a mold.

A simple tag removes the responsibility from the rest of us.  I like the way it is now, that when you encounter a player you have look closely, use your brain and may have to exercise some discretion.  Many vets here give new players a pass or a warning.  I like that and want to see more of it.  Dante provides this server but this is our player community to build.   The idea is to allow someone to make an investment of time and effort in themselves and possibly stay around a while.  They way they get treated by the rest of us is central to making them feel welcome and included or victimized and picked on.

Could I ask this of you?  If you see a new player here, greet them.  If they're in Fel, make sure they know they are in a danger zone.  Evaluate what gear you can see, their fame/karma/skill title.  Lots of the reds I know even do this.  You can also direct them to pm me if they need anything.

*applauds Larynda*

That was expertly written up on how all players should interact in regards to pvp and newer players.
I agree that the "new" tag is not a soultion for people and does not even address the original topic of the personal teleporter. In the end, what I'm seeing here is pvp players that want more pvp in fel and are becoming upset when they attack a player that can instantly tele to saftey, it ruins their chase.

However the large point here is the same that I brought up in my first post. A personal tele costs 500ED, that is a lot of ED for the ability to tele out of harm. Any changes to how the personal tele works will effect all the people who have bought one and will result in massive refunds and more issues overall than just regarding pvp.
Normally I can see both sides of the coin on the majority of the issues and suggestion presented here on the forums, but this one is far above the call of simple suggested tweaks.

I agree with Big baby

We need a system in place where when you pvp someone you both stand next to eachother and are paralyzed from all movement and escapes. You then whack on eachother and the first one to die looses.

Do not allow movement or running or anything like that, all those "tactics" just further complicate an already complicated game.

Just add a new command like .broduel or .p2wduel or something like that for starters.

If it becomes popular enough, you can just eliminate movement all together and have every player and mob just stand next to eachother to see who comes out on top.

Blight and Larynda's arguements about being allowed to move and traverse the world is completely PVE oriented and does not help us that wish to have PVP goals in mind, so I hope that is taken into consideration.

I hereby amend my opinion.  Everyone should be able to move about except for Warboss.  He must stand completely still.  He looks best as a statue.

It is taken into consideration, but perhaps you are not taking into consideration that some players actualy, wait for the surprise..... do not like pvp. Personally I am not a pvper, I don't like to duel, nor do I like to pvp in Fel situations, in fact even being a vet player I'll run away from most champs just for this simple fact I don't engage in pvp.
Now I know its a bummer for people that thrive on pvping, that the fact I spent a heck of a lot of ED for the single ability to tele in and out from where ever I please. There are enough players that regularly engage in pvp and/or do not have personal teles that this really shouldn't even be an issue.

I can assure you my mental IQ rating is actually far above the norm. Secondly "completely ridiculous" was not part of the vocabulary choices I used in my last post. From this I can gather that you are becoming frustrated. More so are taking a point of attacking my mental capacities, bad decision my friend.
So how about we just settle the discussion once and for all and stop the needless ranting. The personal teleporter is not now, nor ever will be adjusted to suit the needs of pvp oriented players. At most I sympathize for active pvper in their hunt to pk, unfortunately you're not going to be pking me.

Blight, buddy, I think he was talking about the fact that his post was dripping with so much sarcasm that I almost drowned in it. And I very rarely get sarcasm.
