Since I started playing UO I have always loved having unique looks for my characters.  Right now if you go to BB 95% of people are all wearing the same thing.  Shrouds cover all your clothing and armor and really cut down on the amount of customization available.  I used to love switching up my outfits and showing off my gears.  Shrouds take all that away, most items are covered.  My suggestion which could also be a very profitable option for the server... Offer a deed to re layer the shroud.  Not only would this make customizing your toon much more unique but people would also alter their current items.  This would create a very nice ED sink.  Not only would people re layer the shroud but they would also change the way their current gear looks.  I think it would entice more new players to join.  When someone logs in the first time and sees 100 neon shrouds at BB it may be a turn off.  I don't know how difficult this would be to code but it would seriously rake in the ED.  Thanks for your time, and good luck out there to everyone  ;D

Yes we have discussed adding more items with different item IDs, we have a plan and are working on this for a future update

I would enjoy it if there were items and clothing you could wear that were decoration only, but did not take the place of actual equipment.

Many games have done it they various methods, Warhammer Online and LOTRO did it extremely well.

Some even had titles that went along with the custom looks, Warhammer online had a nice one for dyeing 25 or more items.  They also had naked achievements for completing certain things naked.  Was really fun watching 15 or more naked players running around killing things.

There was even a market for those items amongst the players.  Some simply enjoy looking stylish while slaying dragons and demons!  Would really benefit the Tailor Profession in the game, suddenly the various types of clothing would be important!

We do have "Item ID Change deeds" which do this already, if I understand you.

Not really what I was talking about.
Think of a Second Paper Doll that can only equip Cosmetic Clothing or Armor on.  This would allow you to look like a Ninja. Samurai, Knight, Blacksmith, etc.  Regardless of what your actual equipment actually is. It is just a cosmetic appearance, that you can toggle so others can see how well dressed your character is.  Also it could lead to tons of more things that can be done in the game, by being able to design costumes or theme outfits.  Could lead to a new profession the Fashion Designer (Tailor), lol.

i'd like to see this too actually

modern day mmo's provide the ability to hide your cloak and helm

if we had the ability to hide, say our robes, i'd invest more ed into re-id'ing all of my regular gear to make it look cooler. seeing the same bland old robe gets boring after a while.

I would enjoy seeing more Asian style clothing and armor.

Maybe Kane can add some code that if a clothing deed is used in Tokuno it will appear as that style of dress.

or, you can use the game mechanic already ingame :Item ID change.

I seriously dislike Asian clothing... love their culture & food, clothes no.

this post isnt referring to that. it's referring to the ability to remove the sight on an item such as a robe to show what you have underneath and change the visual of your character. would give everyone the option to be more unique

If I remember right, in WOW, we could hide or helms/cloaks (Hat cloaks, hat! hat! hat!<-private joke, but always funny to me), but then we could see what was underneath on other players.  I think the idea is cool, but I prefer to not let others know what I wear under my gear.If we could choose our own personal display, thats cool, but a universal option like WOWs, not cool.

I know Kanes a genius, but not sure if the time to implement this would be the best use of his time.

but then again, Im still waiting on YARDWANDS! & sinkable houses!   *drools*

*giggles*
