So ive been helping a friend complete the Dragon Cloak quest and had a question about how it works.
These cloaks require a specific amount of points to advance between stages. The dragon cloak gains a point by killing certain dragon type creatures that do not serve other masters (No Champs, no summoned, no tamed, no animated etc). The % chance for points and number of points is determined by the difficulty of the creature killed and your luck.
Once you have obtained the number of points to advance a stage the cloak will no longer gain points until it is soaked with the Dragonic Elixer (see below). With each stage the cloak will increase in properties until it reaches stage 4 and the quest is complete.
Thats leveling the cloak, I get it should be a long grind and thats kind the point for an end game item.
In addition to the points, there are a series of quests you can pursue, which must be completed prior to stage 4. The quests will add new abilities to your cloak that will be revealed when it reaches stage 4. Whenever you slay one of the Unique/Named creatures (Ex. Gem Dragons, Ancients, Spirilix, Magi, etc)that are among the quests you will receive a message stating you have unlocked one of the secrets. There are some Unique Dragon Bosses you can kill that will actually increase a cloak's property immediately without reaching stage 4.
That is the part I have issues with. Been killing these dragons for the quest on his cloak and one for myself also. Seems im only getting points towards this secondary quest 1/4 of the time if that. Thought kill quests were just kill this many monsters and be done with it. Is this 2nd kill quest also based off strength of monster(they all strong?) and luck just to get a point towards it?
If it is based on strength of monster and luck value I believe it should be changed to kill one of those mobs, get a point. The points towards stages is already a pretty long grind by itself, and unless you are geared pretty heavily already it would be a feat for a player to kill even the base amount without having the issue of killing them several times over just to get one point towards this secondary part of the cloak. Also some of you might think that these are group monsters so thats the solution, pretty sure you have to get the final hit that kills it to even have a chance towards the point, so a group of 4 people will have to kill these dragons that many more times
