Same purpose as the powerscroll barrel, re-purposed to give an empty vial for x amount of filled junk vials. I think a good transaction amount would be 5-8 junk filled vials for 1 empty vial.

So I think this is about the 3rd time I've suggested this and would loooooove as well as many other players, to have this put in game. The bio-ing system has indeed gotten harder, the bios themselves have had nerfs, so I think this would just give a bit more incentive for players to work the craft and stick with it. Even for an advanced bio engineer like myself it's very very frustrating when you waste 10-20 vials filled with junk mimic samples. It may just be my opinion but the mimic sample should not take as many vials as Prowess, Envrio, and Mental combined.

Thoughts?

We do have plans to enhance the bio system with many of the ideas that have been suggested. We have a nice list of upgrades and will implement many of the ideas when we start rescripting the entire system

All I want to know, is when this might be worked on. That goes for a lot of things really. I have been told the same as Blight; that several of my ideas are things being worked on.

I understand that life needs, upgrade testing, and a hundred other things can get in the way of a timeline for fix's/changes.
But I do not see why I can't be told about what the next three major things are that Kane and Staff are working on.

You guys are awesome enough to let me know about a monthly calender of planned activities. Why not mention what's being worked on next? If knowing what there is to do during the month brings people to the table; then I can only imagine the positive effect of knowing what to look forward to will do to the EVO community.

That's all I got to say about that...

We used to post a preview of what systems were coming or what changes might be made, but then players would ask a ton of questions and start posting opinions about every detail to the point of distraction.  I like to inform the players about all the exciting things to come, but we have to switch directions every month based on real life, unforseen issues, exploits and many other variables.  I like to under promise and over deliver as not to disappoint anyone.  FYI we do add new content every Friday!

As an example, we have hinted at changing the bio system for a year, but everyone is holding our feet to the fire and asking us when every month...

I would love to wave my magic wand and make it happen today, but changing that system is quite complicated and mixed in with the taming/breeding system.  It effects many other scripts, so I like to collect ideas, scripts and test completely before we add to a live shard with 300+ players.
It takes a lot of planning, money, and a free schedule to tackle this giant project.  I also have to consider our budget and determine if this is a priority for all the players or just a few players to justify the expenditure.  We have a dynamic to-do list that is prioritized each month and we try to do as much as possible each week

Hope this clears up the madness behind the process:)

Sturger, please forgive me for butting in, & I totally understand your frustration, as well as others I’m aware of...*friendly hug*

I am around & I do watch & listen & here’s what I do know:

We have 1 developer, I forget his name sometimes, cause I’m a boob!  *mocking grin*He seems structured of mind & sets goals for himself. We dont write code, we have no clue what sort of mess he works with, RunUO is sufficient, but not perfect, a true coder has to create a block of associated tasks/objects, form a  ...ugh, sorry thats too long to bother explaining & no, I’m not implying ppl are dense I’m saying it’s just too much to write.

He’s goal/task oriented, but take last month for instance He had major internet problems personally, for several weeks.  He’s not a great communicator & would rather put his time/efforts into coding then explaining/talking, (besides English is his 2nd language, coder is 1st!). But he is human! And that’s the point.  Last week, I was finally finishing a project I started 7 months ago, and to do just the "final touches" was a nightmare. Imagine doing so while monitoring 12 lines of communication at an apt level (I can only manage 10), writing & debugging scripts/code on a minimum of 3-4 projects at once, while your compiling your work for your next 3-5 projects & answering the phone intelligently while your internet drops every 5-10 mins.  I have no clue how he didn’t just rage & walk until the ISP issue was resolved, but he didn’t.

He & I butt heads, so I am not "championing" him, but cut the guy some slack, he does this because he likes to & wants to & perhaps he’s just a tad bit crazy like the rest of us. I’ve heard his "to do " list is 700+ items long. The one project he’s working on is a tool he’s creating that can be very useful for future projects, to make them easier to implement. I’m aware of 3 other projects he’s workin on in the background, the guy IS busy, let him be, just make your suggestions politely, informatively & as thoroughly as possible on the forums, it will get noticed, considered & added to the list & implemented as he gets to it.

He’s part of our community too, be supportive.

*hugs*

Sage

Now, can I have some cake!?!  :P

Without sounding angry. Without sounding childish. Without coming off as uncompromising. Without seeming naive. Without loosing friends, who matter.

I am without...

That is what I am left with. I am left without words. Detached, and afraid to speak my mind on the forums. Unfortunately, that is how I feel as I post.

I mean, there is no reason to be afraid to speak your mind.  But it is a case of tempering your expectations a bit.  There are very few people running this shard (Mad kudos to the admins) and yet, it continuously pumps out new custom content and fun events that are 100 times better than the actual EA/Mythic updates.  The best bet is to be patient and hopeful :).  I know that i am new here, and i still have the rose-colored glasses on, but this shard has been amazingly fun.  and i havent touched very much of the content at all!  I am looking forward into getting into Bio and Breeding.  i still need to get the books for it.

Oh Sturger, you are my oldest EVO friend, I didnt mean to isolate you & I am sorry that I did! I was acknowleding you & showing support in doing so, but also showing support for the 1 human being we have that keeps the server going.

Please, you are not alone, I to have many issues, but I tend to not complain because well, whats the point? I have not played here as long as many of you,but even that doesn't matter, longevity or selfless generosity gets one nothing here.

I could tell you a truly horrid story, but I have a few reasons why I don't speak but mainly: I'm taking the high road.  That simple.

Bottom line is, you either "play nice" or "go somewhere else". Those are our choices, the thing is, I'm telling you in a tone of love & friendliness, whereas, you would/could here it in a tone...that's unpleasant.  So, do as I do, play your game, attempt to help as you can or care to extend yourself & quit caring, because otherwise, you'll just be an unhappy person with the realization: you mean nothing to EVO.

Also, remember, I am not a member of EVO staff, nor have the backing/support from the Owner or staff, so my words have no value, this is simpy my way to help you come to terms with the simple fact: We dont matter.

Okay so how about this...
1. Only change I have made to the current bio system since I started.. was put the coded caps in place that staff were doing by hand and applied the HP max based on control slots as all pets current have in place.

2.  I only have 24 hours a day.. just like anyone else where however no one seems to get this at all.  Nothing in the last year has gone according to plan because bugs, exploits and freezes always are critical so any "Hope to get this done conversation" is pointless really.

3.  I do talk frequently with people on TS regarding new stuff, get ideas, bugs, things wrong you are more then welcome to join in.. even if you do not have a mic.  If it isn't worth your time though please, respect that spending a few hours each day on forums may not be the best use of mine either.

One of the best things my grandfather taught me is respect is a 2 way street.

And.. let me close with this...

I will not share my list with no one, it has player names on it that may of been involved or talked to me about things.  It also goes into detail about some things on the server that never will be public knowledge.  At over 700 items on it, I am not going to edit it either.

Truth. I would have been happy with:  "Sturger"  I am currently working on Bio's, bugs/exploits, and server freeze ups. (you might have even said anything else)  8)

I am not saying this to prove anything or place blame. I am mentioning it because this is what I was hoping to receive when I posted my original reply post. I, however, got a response with which I was unprepared for. I was seriously stunned. I wanted to be angry and say a whole heck of a lot of stupid things. But there is a difference between mad and stupid, so I shut my mouth and stayed mad-- for my own reasons-- and let my stupid half go. Another day has passed and I am not mad any longer. The passing of time has allowed me to think about things. I apologize if my post came off as pushy. Your list is yours, and I only wanted to know three things you were willing to would me about it. Mostly the things you were working on currently. Honest.  ::)

Truth. I have Team speak, and have gone on it a few times. The week straight I was on Teamspeak you were always busy, or offline. When I mention this I am not placing blame. Just letting you know, that I know you are busy working on EVO stuff, talking with Dante-- or others-- or just breathing and doing your own things. That being said I can always find you on the forums after I post because I know you will log onto the forums eventually. I respect you more then I can say, which goes for the whole EVO staff. Matter of Fact... (Truth) the only person I respect more-- EVO staff wise-- is Dante.

  @ Sagemoon.

I am not mad at you for posting. The forums is about opinions. Also, I have made it my life's goal to never give up without a fight-- or a really darn good try.

 @ Kane

Your grandfather was wise. My grandfather told me that respect is often times something hard won (earned) and easily lost. I do respect you Kane, and I hope I can earn your respect as well.

I am quiet on TS sometimes.. ask anyone but.. can easily grab me if you want a conversation.  I enjoy talking with people who play the game because they see and experience something I don't.. Then I can ask questions and get suggestions on how to make Evo better.  Good example are these nightly events, yes I am testing for freezes but.. I am also taking input from players and tweaking each night to find a good balance between reward and risk.

Keep in mind this is not the only discussion revolving around this, I have had a few people on me over "The List"  So since I was posting, I posted.

Now.. not a discussion but let me say this about Bios..

I am coming up with a plan for how I imagine bios, I do not want them to be "just another pet" because we have pets already.  I want it to be something useful and something players can have fun creating.  The key thing has always been.. the design and we are finally getting that ironed out.  If bio people want to get on TS and have a conversation about it I am more then willing to talk..

Just as an update to the request.
Could DNA Vial Sets either be removed from the creation menu (no one needs to craft them ever) or drop the cost of organics required by more than half.

10000 organics for an item you don't need is one accidental click away from frustration.
