I'm not going to lie, I am a little upset with the auction today.  For a two year anniversary I expected at least 1 or 2 new items in the gold and token side of the auction considering that is what the veteran players would have mostly.  It was the same items in every auction.  It makes earning the gold pointless if you have nothing to spend it on. I was expecting a little more... it just seems tailored to the donation side. I think I counted six auction items for gold? Might have been seven.  Bio vials, book, organics, bank stone, teleporter, 1k ingots, 100 use hammer. I am sure I am missing maybe one or two things, but I think my point is given.  Where are the ethies, pet slots, pets or anything unique? I left after the tokens.  My vent is complete.

Yes I'm sorry I was not able to run the auction as usual.  I had to deal with real life and fire a manager at my warehouse for stealing my inventory, secure the building, rekey locks etc and it took all day.  The staff was nice enough to take over and attempt the auction anyway, but I left them unprepared.  I had all the bags and special items made on my acct.  They had to scramble and make items on the fly and is not ez at the last min and with 100 players talking, asking questions and disrupting the auction its ez to get flustered.  GIVE THE STAFF A BREAK!  We hit a record of 189 players online!  This is more than double the norm,  We received over 175 messages and pages during the auction...Zoe did her best but she has no experience with some of the functions she had to do yesterday and tried her best.  Also there were 2 auctions that day and many items were sold for gold and tokens already at the first auction, the second auction had many of the ed items that she did not get to earlier.  I also realize the items were sold for the wrong currency etc, but again the staff could not read my mind and errors were made.  But again, remember these staff members all volunteer their time you give you all an enjoyable experience.  I will make the next auction a big blow out for the anniversary, so no one missed out on anything...sorry for all the confusion

Well I will say compared to this morning, this most recent auction just furthers the point, 10,000 ED up for auction for ED? So should I expect 200 million gold to be auctioned for gold? This is a joke to the whole economy of the game.
Yes this was a huge error.  Zoe meant to sell 100.00 ed not 10,000 ed.  It was a simple typo that caused alot of unnecessary drama.  It has been corrected, and no one got anything for free.

Well any of the good items went up for ed that i don't have. I was also waiting on a dread horns lasso that only went up for ed. So I farmed the lasso for for 3 to 4 weaks over 60+ times and never got the lasso. Someone told me that dante said the drop rate is 10%. Its no,t its ether not dropping at all anymore or so piss low it'll never drop again. So for a month I farmed for one item to complete a perless for a friend. It should of gone up for gold and tokens. 
Yes the lasso was intended to be for gold and for tokens, again a mistake, but they did not know

I was told before to have patience on drops I think farming for 3 weeks almost 24 hours at a time. Shoot the keys wouldn't even drop at 8 hours at a time and they would almost time out before i got a set. That's ridiculous if the drop rate is so low.

I understand that ppl are angry about last night. But there is no point complaining whitout trying to find a way to fix this. Personaly, Im still happy that staff took some of their time for an auction, even if it wasnt as good as I expected, it was still a auction.


I myself only was there for 1st auction, and only for a couple minute on 2nd auction. Shit happens in real life, and that I understand, thats why Im not mad or whatever. I felt sad that during the auction, we get told it was a "mini-auction", but like I said, things happens, so dont worry staff Im whit you!


Overbid
There are a few probleme that, even whitout that, need to be fix. First, I dont know why, but its like some people like to overbid for no reason. first auction I saw, a tripple slash rune got sold for over 50ed when you can get it from Augment stone for 50ed... but people never pay more than 1m/15ed for it as player trade. So Im asking... why would people pay that much? I saw a few ED item that can be bough at ED stone for 1-15 more ED than the actual price. I know some people have plenty of ED, its really not a reason to be trolling everyone. At my first auction, I was choked, pissd of seeing that happen. Same goes for gold/token. some item, evaluated at a X price in current market are sold for 125-200% of their price at auction... it dosnt make sens. Only reason why someone whit a brain would do that, is to make funs of others who cant pay the item at ridiculous price (or otherwise said, stop others to buy the items at a raisonable price (There im not saying ED auction should be sold at 50-75% of the price, but even if you can get 5% cheaper... why not. Otherwise, why do an auction? just page and get the item)

So... I wasnt there, but I hearing of it was enaugh. Im not mad at staff, im sure (I hope) they figured out the mistake after the auction. Just in case some others dosnt agree, I would say that... I agree donator should have some kind of bonus (ed, up to x2 ED + lot of extra items), Im a donator myself. the 3 parts are pefect idea. Usualy, a ED item in gold is sold (ED price * (75k to 100k)) and in tokens (ED price * (40k to 50k)), whit the exeption of the trolling overbiding. Having 10k ED at auction allowed to the "richest" guy on shard to get even richer. Same would have happen if  there was a "1000m" gold check at Auction. The richest would have got it for... let say 450m, ending up doubling his money (so he was richest -> super richest). No way he can spend it in game... other than at auction. what you think will happen next auction? 1000m gold... he will buy every single item sold for gold (highest we see is around 40-50m, for the 500ED items) same goes for 10kED.... yea, there is more items and for higher price (Mystery box at 1k5-3k ED) but still, it increase the prob of overbiding. there is already enaugh ED for people trollings other by paying way over the actual price. It remove the "everyone can bid" kind of idea.




I dont know for the second part, and nobody really remmeber, but for first 1, It was lacking gold/tokens items. I agree there shouldnt be as much. but there was a few really easly obtainable item (DNA vial, sold at ridiculous price) and 2-3 hard to come by item (spell chaneling, bank cry and personal teleporter) and even less for tokens.

By the way, I love the auction, even if ppl complains about yesterday, Im happy it still occured. I personally see it as a ED/gold/token sink, not a way to implement more of those in game. Maybe if there was more ED items for gold/tokens, and more "special/rare" items in ED section... items whitout actual price on (I liked zoe's sandlas being sold), this increase the sink of ED since there are no price on them, so vets whit sh** load of ED can spend on, instead of buying every smaller item, letting the others fight for them!


Anyway, Im happy your rl issue got fixed Dante hope it goes all well now.

I really do appreciate the attempts made but at the same time maybe a post-pone should have been issued.  I do understand that a lot of it is volunteered staff which is awesome of them, but at the same time with people spending actual money on the shard to keep it running, you expect a few things.  I have been to quite a few of the auctions, and I know how they should run and it was apparent that the most recent was definitely a confusing event.  I don't want you to think I don't care about the hard work the staff puts in, I do. I am just happy there was an explanation.  I do hope everything real-life related gets worked out and that you can actually enjoy UOE.  Thanks again for the hard work UO Evolution Staff!
