The [getpet command is fraught with issues. I've suggested before that it should be re-implemented as a stone, like the corpse stone. Doing so would be a straight forward way to prevent many of the problems that arise from being able to teleport your pets to you any place, any time.
As for the EVs, I agree. Uncontrolled summons should be exempt from [getpet.
