Best of Both Worlds!

We are going to try an experiment this month with the addition of roleplay and PvP events that follow a storyline.

We are going to encourage roleplaying during these events, so please read the roleplay section of the wiki and be aware of the rules and expectations of each guild.

The idea is to find a way to PVP in a fun way with no griefing and create an even playing field for all to participate in the events.

We will restrict skills to 120 and basic craft only items, so dont enhance your alt character (no sockets/levels/magic clothing/artys). I used to love the old guild wars and pvp style from the Dread Lord days and the T2A era but it always lacked the custom content.  There was never a way to have the best of both worlds and still keep a balance.

The following idea came from the success of the "Hunger Games" and the "Naked Fistfights" events we do here on UO Evolution.  Players always have a great time! 

I would like to create a staff run, epic guild war event every Sunday to control the storyline and enforce rules until all the players understand the RP rules and then during the week, let the players interact and have small battles within the context of the roleplay/guild rules

Here is the idea:
Make 4 guilds with rules and restrictions as to the gear you wear and the way you act toward each opposing group.  Hopefully we can bring the T2A era of PvP on UOE through these guild events, without changing the current PvP playstyle of the entire shard.

Orc Guild - Magru' Buub has started the Orc guild
Pirate Guild - Blackbeard has started the Pirate Guild back up here on UO Evolution
Elven Guild - Silverleaf has started the Elven Guild
Gargoyle Guild - Drax Prilem has started the Gargoyle Guild

There is a link to the history of Sosaria on the wiki and would be a good place to start creating a guild storyline.

If you would like to participate, make an alt character, train up for the next few weeks, read the roleplay/guild rules and join the RP guild you are interested in.  I will define the playstyle, rules and event in the near future.  many of you may be asked to participate in testing, so get working on your alts and join one of the RP groups.

Oh man and i am going to miss all of this, thats the kind of PVP i would get into. Also, since i will be gone for a little while, i will be working on something myself. A little (kinda huge) project for PVP that could basicaly solve all the current issues the shard is having with balancing and OP gear, i can very well see it be worked in with this idea of yours. One thing i would suggest tho, push the rules to; no magic clothing, no sockets, 700 skill cap, no leveled weaponsand such. Get it back to OSI standarts! Easy to do with a soulstone.

Not server but a new facet/map specific to the RP PVP area at hand. I have quite a lot of content in mind only question is if its something that could be done but it would required a player to visit all facets.

When can we expect more details, i created a char, but since soulstones dont work its hard to prepare a char without any details.

I m interested in that too, i made a RP char that will be a pirate. Started some training but waiting for more details too

I will add more details, rules and event info when I have them.  Make an alt character and contact/join the appropriate guilds and train up your alts for now
