I have been called a greedy bastard (and much worse),  but on the flip side of that are people who simply through away gold.  The key to acquiring wealth  on EVO is to Loot EVERYTHING!  The other evening at the dragon power hour I much have looted 1000 of each gem from other player's kills.  While the gold from the mobs is nice,  the other items on the corpse can bring in even more gold.  Gems and spell scrolls can easily be sold back to NPCs for GOLD! 

I realize that some of the newer players do not have the keys for these items,  but bank crystals are only about 2.5 mil now.  The tome to hold Spell Scrolls is available via a Quest (I know the quest is a bit frustrating).  I would hope maybe the Jewelers Key could be the next quest,  being able to get that key would really help the new players on the shard.

You can also use the selling tool in Steam to sell these items to NPCs;  You can also build a script to sell the items back in steam with the selling tool.

Please don't make me be the greedy bastard,  LOOT EVERYTHING!

This is quit possibly the best advice iv heard from the forums. This is what i do to make cash, and youll fetch a good bit more that the actual gold on the mob itself.

I would also LOVE to see the jewelers key be the next one available via quest. This key is by far the one that I use the most and a couple times after saving up gems for a couple months I have sold what I had for a mil or two. In the days leading up to an auction that extra coin is nice to have.
