Hello,

tl;dr at the bottom

So I'm new in the sense that I am not powerful. I have maintained an account here for a while and previously I would come and go just for the sake of nostalgia. Well, something clicked this time and I am in to this game right now. I am looking for some advice per the title - which direction should I start my power creep? I have 315 max stats, max resists with vampiric embrace, about 1000~ luck, a mirror shield, and my go-to weapon is a Zelda Sword. I have 0 augments. My parry is sitting at 120 and my swords 127. I have 209 HP.

What I'm currently doing:

  • Farming Fel Destard when I deem it safe to try to get the Magi Dragon to spawn.
  • Keeping an eye on the blood trees for vengeance gems so I can get a cleric spellbook which is hopefully worth it.
  • Trying to find a good place to farm deviously drawn t-maps and then I do those whenever I get them. Right now my go-to is Trammel Hyloth for the Balrons on the 4th and 5th floors
  • Farming up the 12 astro demon bones
  • Working on my fishing / begging so I can eventually create gold pans and get the perfect gems I need to start crafting the seals for my Tokuno belt. I believe these are deemed resource gathering activities so I cannot afk them just for skill gain.
  • Collecting skill level 120 BS'ing BoD's, 100 Tinkering BoD's, 100 Taming BoD's
This is plenty to keep me busy. I rarely find myself wondering what I should do. What I am more interested in is what I should be throwing this little bit of wealth I seem to be accruing at. I like the idea of an evo dragon, so I have something to tank and keep my 120 parrying butt safe from the scary things. The druid book seems OP as hell, so that would be nice to have. If a champ axe is all that stands between me and soloing champs that is extremely appealing. If I can't actually start playing the game until I have 240 parry I should probably just work straight towards that. Unless I am missing something those seem like my current options.

tl;dr: As a new player with little to no power I do not know if my first big investment should be an evo dragon, a druid spellbook, a champ axe, parry augments, or something else I totally missed.

Any advice you guys might have would be appreciated.

Champ Axe so you can really start killing stuff to accumulate wealth and killing baddies.

Next - dragon killing BOW - for slaying dragons and stuff you don't want to get up next to. Ice Power Bow can work in the mean time.

Evo Dragon - Great for tanking if you can find it cheap.

Druid Spellbook - A solid investment.

Augments - Well here is the issue - yes higher parry completely rocks - if that is the route you wish to take and be a dexxer ( BTW - Dexxers pretty much rock all content in my eyes at the moment)

Read through the development log and you will notice that parry and eval now conteract. The issue was mages with 240+ eval and parry would decimate anyone. Now, the higher your eval the lower your overall parry. We also have to wait and see what new gear you can make through Kane's progression on the systems.

That is just my advice.

There are a few things depending on the route you want to go.

Mage or dexer.

For a Mage, try finding magi armor eventually.  A pair of Antiquity gloves, is a must for most every one.

Once you get your astral demon armor and a good champ axe you are set for awhile.  And you can start running most champ spawns.

Get a Fighters charm bracelet, as it will help you hit things a lot more often. Then a parry ring and stack parry on your clothing.  You need a red or green tunic, that fits your combat style they range from +5 through +20.

A champ bow I would not recommend, get one with life and mana leach instead.  From there a higher hot chance or defence lower and a magic arrow spell on it.

I would grab a ring/bracelet with +15swords rather than Parry. You hit more often and mobs hit you less often. Also, do the curse pirate quest and grab the +10sword shirt. Next, get a sword shirt/kilt and you'll be at 160-180sword without much $$ investment.

something that caught my eye was said here: Eval Int worsens your parry? So if you are going for a dexxer, you should have eval int at 0? I have checked through the dev logs and haven't seen anything, at least on the wiki part of it.

Warboss mentioned the development log. There, one of the more recent updates mentions it. As far as I can tell Kane has not released math. From a developer standpoint that makes sense, as he will be able to tweak the numbers to his liking without people crying about it every time there's an adjustment.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions so far!
