So I have a couple undead worgs and after deaths I have lost a few hundred hit points on them. I have read the wiki and a few posts on these forums a search provided but can only find info on regaining stats. Int,Str,Dex and resists.

How does one regain lost hit points?

I`m afraid to explore to much of the game cause I don`t want them to die and lose even more hp`s. I can`t imagine the hp`s would be lost forever?

Thanks Emporer. That is an aggravating read.

No more dono pets for me. 2 Worgs lost a bunch of HP. Not cool.

And that is the problem, although I have no means of knowing how many donation pets have been sold recently, I DO know that the price of Pet Level Deeds have gone down considerably.  Before I took a break, 6 months ago, even while the Pet Stat Loss System was in effect, Pet Level Deeds were selling frequently at over 600k each.  Sometimes bringing up to three quarters of a million each.  I saw some on a vendor over the weekend for 200k.

That tells me that demand for the deeds have dropped, and it sure isn't because everyone has the level capped on their pets.  The reason behind the changes I have read have been "To help stimulate the game economy", but from my perspective, it has only been the opposite.  People are just not dealing in pets as much as the once were, and stat loss has much to do with this.

There are potions that prevent stat loss on a pet for a limited amount of time, but the recipe to create the potion is only in the hands of few, who had purchased it from auctions.  The recipe for this is simply not available in game, by quest, BOD, or any other means that I am aware of, and to make matters worse, those who hold the recipe rarely sell the potions, if at all.

Keep your fingers crossed Kotten, maybe something will change, things tend to do that a lot around here.  In the meantime, go easy on the pets.  Keep in mind that there are mobs out there, that although not hard, have lots of HP, and it's tempting to whip out a pet to make the job a little faster.  Some of those mobs are made absolutely destroy pets in one hit, and there is no comprehensive list of the mobs like this in the world.  There should be a list (suffered stat loss on my Evo because of this, on the Gargoyle Underboss).

I just don`t understand how perma loss is suppose to help anything for anyone. I mean I`m all for stat loss and death penalty but jeez. Make it curable or something, I want my HP`s back. Who wants to spend RL cash on something only to see it degraded after several deaths. That is not money well spent and if I had known things would be this way, I would have never bought them in the first place.

Its not just about dono pets either. I sympathize with any pet owners who have spent hours/days/weeks or even months building, breeding or whatever to get their ultimate pet. I get the whole risk versus reward thing but this is just to much IMO. I know end game is not ruled by tamers and that is awesome. I`m just trying to enjoy the ride there and its nice to have a couple meatshields when your trying to explore foreign area`s.

I thought to myself, well back to bio engineering I go. Might as well make a few more pets I don`t care much about but in the few weeks I have been back hunting bio stuff.......... I found ONE empty vial.

*sigh*
The struggle is real

But I love this shard regardless  :)

That's why pet protection potions are important and they are not that expensive, several players sell them on their vendors. Also, trust me recovering the loss costs way way more than the protection potions. I have been making&selling pet tonics and ointments which is required for stat loss covering. You can check the Pet Ointment & Tonic Crafting Guide if you want: http://uoevolution.com/forum/index.php?topic=8389.0

If I have to give an example, a single ointment was priced 50k (which recovers %1 to %4 of that type of resist for your pet, randomly) and a single tonic was priced 70k (which recovers 1 to 4 of that stat for your pet, randomly as well) on my vendor usually but he protection potions were going for like 30-40k each (which protects your pet from stat loss for 15 minutes)

I might agree that it looks harsh when you lose them permanently, especially after you spent so much effort on your pets but this makes it challenging. If it wasn't stat loss, one could just use pets even for top end ingame purposes like Ancient Dragons or Mithril Creatures without even losing anything.

Also, I recommend everyone to set an "oh shit" button for their pets. I do have a UOSteam Macro which gives the all follow me command to my pets, then checks if they are poisoned (cause you can not shrink your pets if they are poisoned) then shrinks them using my leash.
