if u use bushido and 1handed weapon + shield u get a parry malus ( i thougt around 15% but dont know the exactly formula)...bushido is a skill made for 2-handed-weapon-user with advantages (perfection gives damage and luckbonus) and disadvantages ( no shieldslot, 100% defense only with 2hand-weapon). so u can decide what way u go.
