Hey I'm new here.  Well newer....  I played UO back in 2000 or so but haven't played in over 10 years.  I'm having a hard time meeting people to hunt with and just hang out.  I've visited all the guilds available through portals but no one is ever there.  I've done a few quests, the ones I can do.  Every time I venture outside of newbie dungeon I get killed.  So I guess I need better gear.  I bought a few pets but they all died.. lol.  So I guess if you guys have any suggestions I'm down to hear them.  Thanks!

Start chatting in [c, that is a great place to meet folks and form up some hunting parties.  Also make sure you start off with the easier dungeons such as despise.  Work your combat skills up at the training elements for awhile, that will also help get your stats started.

I'll try the chatting.  I've already maxed out all my combats and a few other skills. 

I saved up all my money and bought a tower.  My bank was over flowing with stuff so I started moving things in yesterday.  I woke up this morning and everything is gone out of the tower.....  Not really sure what happened.

when you place an item down you need to say "i wish to lock this down" and you will get a targeting cursor.  Click on the item and it will get an extra line when you mouse over it saying locked down.  If you want to place a chest that will store your stuff you say "i wish to secure this" and click the targeting cursor on it.  This will also allow you to pick the level of security for who can get into the chest.


If you set items down without doing either of these then the server deleted them during its normal clean up routine.

Also don't feel bad, most people new to UO do not know that they need to lock down or secure their stuff in the house and end up losing a lot just like you did.

  Since I don't see it mentioned.

  Make sure that you read the EVO Wiki. The information at you fingertips, here, is almost as important as breathing in UO. Take it from an 11 year vet, playing UO, there is always something to be learned; whether it is OSI old news, to most; or custom made by the EVO Admin's.
