Will someone tell me how to obtain scrolls for mining? The one's I've seen on venders are way to expensive for a new player.Yes you would need to defeat the master of the arts champ/crafter champ/ancient blackmith champs to get that powerscroll
you need to hit a Master of the Arts champ spawn. I am not sure if they are a BOD reward.
or buy a powerskull.
I am not sure if these are available from the power scroll turn in bucket
