First I would like to say thanks for the great server. I have had alot of fun since I joined.
I have had a couple problems with pets though. I had a nice verite dragon that I bought and leveled up to 24. I was fond of him. I leave myself logged in at my house because I remember reading somewhere that you prefer people to stay online because it helps with server stats.
One day when I came home he was gone. I had not learned to customize my loot bag and sometimes I would have lots of items and I noticed that the pet statue would drop to the ground when I leashed him and I thought, "woah! that would really suck to lose a pet that way".
So when the dragon went missing I thought it must be completely my fault and I must have been careless and lost him from such an occurrence.
I bought a new Cu Sidhe and leveled him to 30 and wow I really loved this pet. I logged in this morning to do some quick hunting. I went to destard and someone was there, I recalled to Shame and killed some blood elementals and then I recalled home and left my character parked there.
When I came home from work today my pet gump was still up but my pet was nowhere to be found. I did not have very many things in my pack because when I claim I have most of the junk destroyed. I am not 100% sure that I leashed him, though that is what I usually do when I am done.
What am I doing wrong? I know it must be me, because I used to play UO back in the first couple years when we didn't have a lot of the neat stuff that they have now, and I am still unfamiliar with all the custom stuff you have added here on UOE despite reading part of the wiki every day.
Please give me an idea so I don't repeat such a mistake. I get attached to my pets in an odd way. Am I messing up by leaving myself online?

I encourage you to stay logged in to get the rewards. You probably just did not lock the pet down? I would suggest making a macro, so you don't ever type the command wrong. Pets should be shrunk with a leash or put in the stables for safe keeping.
