Hiya everyone,
I'm somewhat at a loss of what to do and can do (in terms of character) in the shard so I have several questions, which might be somewhat a pain to answer for some. (Sorry =) )


1) Are melee characters viable?


2) Are ranged (archery) characters viable?


3) Are casters (mage, necro, etc) characters viable?


If yes, what is the stat priority?
(Like melee should get DCI to X level, or mages should get SDI to Y level first then FC to Z level)


4) Is there any sort of order of where to go? Like where dungeons to get started up on getting arties, or Ilshenar location of sorts? Really need some sort of recommendation on this one =/


Asking this since it's been a long time since I've played UO for real. And most places only have Taming+Vet viable as a "build" of sorts.


PS: Found a post on the forum about the kokiri knife for spellcasters, its a neat piece of gear. Kinda bothers that Protection makes casting so slow tho. Also, is the spellbook for Bards (Bard Masteries) in the shard?

Could you define your parameters a bit; are you looking for PvP, PvM ... 


I would recommend starting with what you enjoy; there is no skill cap on the shard. 


You might want to join up with the NEW Guild, they have champ events for new players. 


You should keep you char logged in 24/7 and use the Evo coin slot machine, save the level deeds and sell the cloth deeds.

I only want to PvM (although that will somehow complicate things when it comes to acquire powerscrolls but...)

And I started by going Samurai, and now training to be a Mage, but I'm at lost of what's viable. Hence me asking, well that and the stats...  Do melee chars die outright easy or can they become somewhat tanky or it's pretty much archery/mage + taming only?

If you have a good Triple leach weapon, a melee char can live through almost anything except the highest end MOBs

Hmmm, safe to assume that highest end MOBs are possible by archers and mages tho huh?

But what I'm somewhat at a loss is, what stats are required to work properly...
The amount of DCI, SDI and such required by the "class".

And where should one start to seek the appropriate artifacts/items.
