It seems that day after day in [c we have to see the insults and complaints about people who like me Donate to keep this shard up and running. Most times I just ignore it and move on, but to tell the truth it is getting old, hence the post on here.
Keep in mind a few things as you get ready to bash those of us that are fortunate enough to be able to donate to a server which we enjoy playing on. If it weren't for those of us who do donate, do you really think Dante would keep this going? Do you think that he would just out of the kindness of his own heart absorb all the fees that area associated with giving us this lag free place to play? He doesn't make money from this, this is for his and our enjoyment, but that goes away without those of us that keep the bills paid.
Now do those of us that donate deserve or get better treatment? Simply put the answer is no. Last I checked I don't have a staff member shrunk in my pack that I can pull out any time someone does something I think is wrong, I don't have a get out of jail free card nor do others that donate. To think that it works this way is just crazy. Do I have items that are stronger because I donate? Why yes I do, but guess what you can get just as powerful items. And surprise you don't need to donate to get them. If you choose not to donate to get ED they are almost always available from someone who does. So with the gold you are making in game you can buy the ED from a player then wow you have just as much ability as someone who donates does to make yourself more powerful.
I appreciate Evolution, I appreciate Dante and the rest of the staff here, that is why I choose to donate, and I would bet that this is the reason others do as well. So try and keep that in mind before you go off on a rant bashing those of us who do our best to lessen the burden on Dante and his pocket book.
And since I forgot I changed my in game name this is Anti Hero. Don't want someone saying I'm hiding behind an alias to avoid problems.
Thank you very much for the post. I really appreciate EVERY dollar that has been donated to this shard. We do spend the money to improve scripting, add content and upgrade the gaming experience. This really is YOUR shard!
Here is how I look at donating: I invite everyone to my party, buy the beer, play the music and round up the girls. Some people come here and enjoy the atmosphere, so they chip in some money for the beer and are kind enough to help out with the cost. Other players come here and enjoy the party, but can't afford to chip in. Those people are still very valuable and are appreciated because they help new players and build a good community.
The last group of players come to the party, jump the fence, sneak the beer and run off all the girls. Then they complain the party sucks and get in a fistfight with the people that pay for the party...if you are in this catagory, you will be bounced! Believe it or not I still treat everyone the same and give plenty of chances to fit into the community.
I will not tolerate any negativity toward anyone who donates, they are the ones that keep this party free for all who want to enjoy the shard
All players are welcome to play here, even if you do not donate! You will be treated fairly by me and the staff. I also give EVERYONE a chance to get all the items in game. If you do not donate, you can still get all the items in game. It may take you longer and take hard work, but that's part of the journey.
