Hello

  I have check the wiki, to no avail; so if there is a rule about "no spamming items for sale in general chat" I have yet to find it.

  Please Dante; if you could make a decision on this topic; I'd appreciate it.


  [My Complaint]

  Lately, new and old, members of the EVO community are trading their goods in general chat.

  To me this is annoying, but mostly due to the fact that a 'Trade Channel' exists for just this sort of chat. I understand the need to sell items, even to have a reliable way of finding items for sale. However, I feel as though my eyes are under trade spam attack, in two forms. 

   The first way I feel attacked is seeing things being posted for sale in general chat. I am reminded of telemarketers who call you at 10 minutes after 8pm [any time zone] every other day; when they know the cut off time for such solicitation is 8pm. I have turned off trade chat for a reason; at the moment I am not interested in selling to or buying from others. Seeing it in general chat is making me want to turn off general chat; but that's counter productive. I want to be in general chat to help new players, chat with veteran players, and see fun chat about the shard. Not sell/buy from players.

   The second way is minor, but it bares being said. I am tired of being called a troll, or that I basically need to shut up-- by the people trading in general chat-- when in fact they are the ones who are trolling general chat to make sales.

  Now, I always try to be polite by saying hello, and then reminding/informing them that they are in general chat, and should be trading in the trade chat channel. I even end my reminders with a thank you. What I don't understand is why I am the bad guy for trying to help others understand and follow what Dante intended.

  If any one can explain to me why we have the two different channels; aside from the obvious, I am all ears. 

  If this sounds like a rant, fine, perhaps you were not listening... or just hearing what you wanted to hear. This however is not me demanding of anyone; I am just trying to know if I need to turn all chat off; or if Dante just forgot to enforce this as a rule on the wiki page.

 P.S. I am not mad at, or annoyed with, anyone who wishes to buy/sell things on the EVO shard. I just like things that belong in a certain place to be put in that place. Thanks for reading.

Because of the trading and selling I just ignore the chat. I'm sure I am missing out on important comments because of it.

General Chat is for that. Trade Chat is for trading. If folks are using General for Trade you are correct in asking them to move it to Trade chat. If they have a problem with this, please put in a page with their name(s) and it'll be taken care of. Thanks.

  Thanks Expo... I will try asking them to politely go to trade chat first. Then I will let the EVO staff know if they fail to change over.
