Travel to Heartwood. 
Do the crafting quests from various NPCs. 
They will give you a crafting satchel.  It can contain a talisman, rare recipes (alchemy, carpentry, blacksmithing, etc), junk weapons and rings and bracelets.
Save even the cartography talismans, Kane may do something more with that skill in the future.


The crafting talismans give you an increased chance to successfully complete a crafting recipie.
Either a bonus to the normal or exceptiinal chance for success.  Sometimes you can get one that has both bonuses.  They range from 1-30% bonuses.
