I have been wondering what is the viable stat set up for this shard? I have heard that being a dexxor is a disadvantage. As most go Str. Is their confirmation on this? Trying to figure how to set my stats up (pre stat scroll) and which is the more advantageous path to follow to build up my char. As of right now I am max capped 310 as follows:

• Str - 105
• Dex - 122
• Int - 88

The best stat set-up is an age old question.
The majority of the shard tends to lean towards swordsmanship/str or magery/int as the dexxers don't have as many complimenting items to gear up with. Other than the +35 dex Pwif cloak and Hunter's Gear, there's not too many items that help with archery/dex. The path of being a dexxer for taming/archery is actually a viable idea as it will greatly help your bandaging speed, and I could be wrong but, it's my understanding that dex helps archers as well.

The very small thing I would point out though, is that trying to figure out your stats without proper gear becomes tricky. For example you can have under 90 dex and with the appropriate gear that stat will bump up to 150 very quickly. With that in mind the stats you have out already, seem decent enough for a str/dex build without using gear. I would recommend that you drop 18-20points into your intelligence, this will be helpful in using wep specials and healing.
Just as a side note, there have been rumors circulating that staff is working on new artys. Some that will cater to the direct needs of archers and tamers.

That was a very informative post Blight. I thank you for taking the time to explain. I do believe dex is an important stat for archers, as str works best for swordsmanship. I have always just liked the the whole archery/tamer build since OSI days. Really all I know heh. As I am sure I am not the only one on the shard who follows this path as well. If those rumors are true, that will definitely put a new twist to those of us who follow the archery/tamer/dex build and would be great to have to accommodate such a build. Guess only time will tell. Yes dex is important for archers and melee as it will increase your stamina which in turn improves your rate of attack.  Also as stated before it directly effects bandage speed.  In addition to this as long as your dex is above 80 you will also receive a bonus to parry chance, though there is no further increases beyond 80 dex.


Honestly it depends on what you will be spending most of your time doing and your playstyle.  As blight said it can vary tremendously on the gear you have available to you.  I personally run (on my champing char) with 150/150/100 wielding a double axe, which is more than enough dex to get the swing speed down to the 1.25 sec limit.
