I think I would like to see a collection event.
Event type: Collection of materials--- Leather, Ore, Lumber, & Stone
Duration: 1 week
During this event players simply collect resources to turn in at collection points found inside each city listed on the world gate. (Classic cities, Malas cities, Tokuno cities, and Red city)
Rewards could be anything from new-- or old-- deco, to top items from the donation pages of the past, or present.
Ideally the prizes should be on a list similar to that of the veteran reward list. Once a player meets the requirements to obtain an item from the list... that item appears as a selectable on the list of choices.
Some Pro's: Cleans up the shard of previously collected materials, Events are FUN!, Equal playing field for all, New stuff is always a plus.
Some Con's: Might not be easy to code, (shrugs)
Obviously this is an event for the crafter's out there, but that doesn't mean non-crafters couldn't get the low hanging deco fruit on the list.
FYI --- This event was inspired by OSI's Magic clean up circa 1999-2000. The idea was simple, speak a command phrase inside your house and you placed a special trash barrel into which you threw any magical item you had lying around. Every e magical item granted points, based on something quite similar to how the weapon leveling system works here, only in reverse. Amass so many points and gain access to a list of items with which to purchase from according to your hearts desire.

P.S. ED's and Magical items might be added to the above mention collection lists. I would however suggest a limit to how many ED's can be used per day (100) in that money should never be used to win an event. That being said, and in the interest of generating revenue for the shard I see no problem with ED collectors having a slight edge.

P.S.S. The one thing that bothers me the most, about some events, is seeing others do the events just to gain items they can sell to the masses at outlandish prices. Please keep this in mind when making items for an event like this. Low end decoration is fine to be passed around, because everyone should be capable of aquiring it. The stuff at the top should probably be account bound, or only transferable by a GM, and at an ED cost.
