My question is specifically in regards to the chance of getting +level deeds, +magic cloth deeds and +1 socket deeds. How much does luck affect your chance to get these items?


For example if I have roughly a 1% chance to get a +1 socket scroll with 0 luck, if I have 6k luck, what would that chance be? To get that much luck it would take lots of +luck scrolls and socketing armor/weapons with + luck augs. A suit like that would cost hundreds of millions of gold worth of resources. If going from 0 luck to 6k or 8k luck only takes me from a 1% chance to a 2% chance to get a socket scroll, then that is definitely NOT worth the investment. It would take way to long to regain what it cost to get that much luck in the first place.


I know that Dante and Kane don't necessarily want to release exact formulas for things, but without knowing atleast the breakpoints or rate of diminishing returns then people have to guess and that can waste months of work for something that doesn't pay off.


Examples


Constants:
Worth of +socket scrolls is 5mil
8k Luck on suit
8k luck suit costs 300 mil
Base chance for + socket is 1% chance




If 8k luck only increases chance to find a +1 socket scroll from 1% to 2% find chance.
With an additional 1% chance to find a +socket scroll @ 5 mil each, it would take 60 socket scrolls to = the 300 mil it cost to make the suit. That would take 6000 SOS to equal the bonus gained by spending 300 mil on the additional chance via luck.


Note: I know that you actually get an average of 2 per 100 sos with this, however the base is about 1% chance with no luck, so the 8k luck grants me only an ADDITONAL 1% (or 1 per 100 sos). My point is I would have paid 300 mil for +1% chance to find, and that chance would pay back my investment after 6000 sos. That's a lot and ultimately WOULD NOT be worth the 300 mil invested. 



If 8k luck increases chance to find a +1 socket scroll from 1% to 5% find chance.
With an additional 4% chance to find, it would still take 1500 SOS to get a return on investment, but that would make this much more worth the money invested.




My point is that without knowing ahead of time how much benefit I get, I would never want to risk spending a fortune without knowing what kind of returns I would get. Is there any way we can get some of these luck numbers? I don't need the formula but it would help knowing the breakpoints... like


1% chance to get +socket scroll @ XXX Luck
2% chance to get +socket scroll @ XXXX luck
3% chance to get +socket scroll @ XXXX luck
etc

Your problem is that you focus the investment for fishing. Luck is effective for many things, it's increase tokuno's belt % point, dragon cloak % point, treasure chest in dungeon,  puzzle chest, and more i don't have in mind. So yes if you only take fishing, it's not worth it, if you take it at a whole things, yes indeed it worth the investment.

Details for what i've in mind :

Blue belt 1k luck, all dojos + wrong : barely 1%
Red belt 7k luck, all dojo + wrong : between 1-3%

Dragon cloak 0 luck : chance point on dragon 5%
Dragon cloak 7k luck : chance point on dragon 15-25% (don't remember :s)

Worth it !

Luck also increases chances to get artifacts, including tokunos. Also better jewellery finds.

Thanks for the info all. I am only about 6 weeks in. I am trying to figure out what the best way to spend the resources I have got so far. Should I go further investment into fishing, or branch out.


Problem is that the suit I have on my 2nd accounts(which is my main fisher).. his armor is just mostly fortune stuff, so spending millions on sub-par stuff would need to be worth it for fishing/crafting.


I know the tokonu belt and dragon cloak exist, but I don't know anything about them and their value or how they work.

Belt of tokuno is one of the artifact that takes time to complete. Maybe a year, depending on gameplay hours. But its well worth it.
