Found you through connectuo and was interested because well I like playing new servers and well so far the staff is awsome and very helpful.

Join UO top shard list is how I located the shard. I used the filter to locate a shard with custom crafting. I chose to stay and play because although help was offered  to me it was not mandatory to accept. Thank you Zeus and Dante. The deciding factor was the first thing that the rules and wiki stated was this was a mature shard. It has been great.

  I found the shard through ConnectUO after deciding to switch to freeshards after the 12 yrs of OSI and drama. Came to find Evolution which sounded interesting and so far its feeling like home so thx to the staff and other players for welcoming me hope to see yas for a long time

I guess I originally saw uo evolution on a top list at my sisters place.  Her internet has a limit and I'm not allowed to play ultima on it or whatever.  So when I went to the neighbors with my laptop and found I got internet over there from somewhere I was quick to jump on this shard and start playing.  Since then I've patched fully and played and even placed a house but now im afraid that the internet has gone away so now im stuck wanting to play badly but not being able to and it sucks.  Anyways it was Dante that brought me to this shard and i'm glad he did. hopefully ill find internet again and will be able to continue playing. 

Was looking at free shards. Tried Second Age but didnt care for how old it was. Looked through a few other shards and stumbled upon this one lol.

My current shard has been having numerous issues leading to resets and such. I looked on the top 200 list and tried several shards but I really have liked what I have seen here. Looks like there is lots to do in the crafting areas which is what I mainly like.

Google helped me, love custom shards and after the 6 year break i was really hoping to find a good friendly shard to play on Found one on the first attempt

Well I played back when UO first started played for 8 years then me and ex divorced and didnt have the money for my 2 accounts. So after a few years started to play on uohybrid played there for a year. Then went on top 100 sites and found this shard since I came over here I have closed my hybrid account and play here only.

Hi everyone, I'm brand new tonight, I found this on top 100 sites as well. I haven't played in years but I really missed the community and friends from back in the day. I'm a single parent with a job so my schedule doesn't work with a game I have to spend 8 hours raiding in. Seemed like a perfect fit for me. Hope to see you all ingame!

Checked all server one by one from the top to bottom. Had a feeling for this server while checking the website and wiki. Founded that the weapon leveling system was interesting, the player leveling too. I was looking for a complete server with population. I was used to play on francophone RP server and wanted to change a little bit.

Didn't try it up to now since I came just in time for your major down, but I'll be happy to try it when the team will be done restoring the server.

Found the site via my scoundrel brother Asita.  I used to play long ago but have been shipped around the world for a while and haven't played in seven years.  Love the shard and the staff, don't have a lot of time but I'm glad I'm here.  Thanks Asita...Jerk!!

Found on connectUO, I was seeking a relaxing place to play and well Evolution has it! once I logged in the staff was so kind! and the money thingy in your bag is awsome and the blessed bag! oh my goodness its a dungeon hunters dream! plus I was drawn in by the level system and such listed as I have never seen this before!

Safe to say Evolution is now offically the only shard I play! yay Evo team!

I found you guys through one of the Top100 sites while voting for the Pandora shard I have been playing on. After playing your shard for 2 nights I want to leave Pandora and restart on UoE. The Staff is awesome, the features are cool, everything is fresh and new. I've been playing UO for over 12 years and this looks like the best shard I've ever seen. GOOGLE FTW! and I decided to play here for the leveling system and levelable weapons... the pet breeding / bioengineering played a factor as well

CUO was looking for "level" and some popped into the list and this one sounded best so gave it a shot.

was walking down the road and went into a radio shack.. and there it was the evo box set with all 3 seasons on it..   so after voting i got on evo lol..

I decided to play on the shard when i saw my friend Drachen's paragon dragon. I though this was the coolest thing ive seen on any shard. Its one of the main reasons i stuck around.

I saw you were listed at the top shard on www.gamezone100.com site, the description sounded great.  I decided to stay when I saw the Master Keyring option.  Im mainly a crafter and this is the slickest thing since sliced bread!

Staff has been great, Dante is receptive to questions/suggestions.  People seem friendly.

I stumbled apon this shard by random chance.  I was actually looking for a shard with a level/class system because those always leave you room to grow your character your way.  Something about this server caught my eye (I think I read the wiki stuff while at work on my phone and thought I would give it a try)

I have Richard Garriott as a friend on Facebook.
A couple of months ago he posted the big “Lord British Announces Shroud of the Avatar” announcement.
So I signed up on the SoA forums during the Kickstarter Campaign.
They had a thread on their forms like: “What game are you currently playing?”  Someone posted a link so I gave it a try.  So I searched on their voting site and liked the sound of this shard and decided to give it a try.  I’ve been here 5 week now. 

A simple bing search for UO Free Private servers, and saw yours on the top.. checked out the website, logged in and got hooked!

found the shard on one of the free shard rank sites. I like this shard cause not much comes easy which makes the game interesting , I have played shards where everyone is dripping in gold and arties and its not much fun as you end up just like than in no time at all and then everyone just sits at the bank complaining in WC that they are bored so keep it interestingly hard:)

Hi guys, well on my side the shard is offering real good possibilities. I still have some problem to understand the breeding system, but i am pleased with the entire shard. Events are regular, skills are not a pain ( nice for me as i still play on OSI ), en the custom added are really nice and almost without bug. The staff behind seems to work hard... So well after a long research i found a good private shard. I was last playing on demise as private shard but got tired of doing the same every night as there is nothing developed deep inside of it.

So i enjoy it !!!

I found the shard thru connect UO, Saw the custom breeding and Evo pets & was interested in that mainly. But have come to find alot other of things I like that is to much to really mention. All around a wonderful shard!

It was from one of the top 100 sites that Dante encourages us to vote on every day.  I was looking around and thinking about giving a free shard a shot (I wanted to play UO again but did not want to give EA any more money).  I looked at the top 5 only because I figured they were most likey to have a good reputation.


Well Evolution basically sounded like the way I always thought UO should have been.  I gave it a shot and my account is now 72 days old.


Dante and Kyn have been nothing but the best!  They are online a large amount of the time and they actually talk to the players.  Several years ago I was on a free shard where it was basically impossible to talk to the top devs/owner.  This level of personal interaction makes this shard feel like a home instead of just something to fill the time.

I've played some custom UO shards, just to get back into UO.

My friend and I stopped for awhile after we got our fill and saw he was trying out this server so I wanted to give it a go after seeing some of the customization and liking what I seen.

Day two of my time here and enjoying myself here.  Have to explore the world more yet, still leveling up some skills.

Came here 559 days ago with a few friends...probably played about 3-4 months and everyone in our guild left, so I took a break from UO for a bit. Came back little over a month ago...

I found UO Evolution while doing a search on Google for "UO free servers". UO Evolution came out at the top of the list on many sites. I was attracted here because of the faster skill gains, I just didn't want to put that much work into a character for the umpteenth time. I have to admit, I am pleasantly surprised with the server. I've now been here a full week, and asked my son to join me, he is Bilbo in game.

Hello all.  I came across this shard while searching for a good shard for my wife, son, brother-in-law, and myself to play on.  We all have played at least to some extent before, but have been away with other things for a good many years.  All four of us played on Maeve's Garden back in the good old days, but moved on to different games and recreational activities.  It has been a pleasant return to the game where I first wetted my blade in the MMORPG world, as well as finding a great shard in which to play.

  It was a new shard name to be, and It was ranked 3rd on the list of top ranked shards. One and two where known to me so I came here due to it being fresh.  I only wish I had come here a few years ago, and saved some time.

This is an old topic, but I haven't posted yet so here goes. I've been playing MMOs since about 1999 I believe. I started with a free UO shard called Imagine Nation. It was pretty old school, super slow skill gain, a few custom things, 051a Sphere server. I played that off and on, and it periodically comes back for a year or two before shutting down.

Anyway, that game introduced me to MMOs and I've been playing UO off and on ever since. Recently I have grown a bit jaded with current MMOs. Been playing WoW off and on since launch, tried SWTOR, GW2, various free MMOs. UO always pulls me back. I was looking for one with unlimited skill gain. I like crafting, mage and melee, but it's annoying to swap characters, move gold between them, etc. So I basically looked for a high population, unlimited skills, easy to get started UO server.

I liked all the custom content, the reward structure, and the population. I found it on one of the many UO server lists.

I've been browsing the many server lists over the past couple of years picking and playing shards from those lists looking for the ideal shard. Having played quite a few I liked the idea of gold ledgers and no skill caps that a couple had but found I couldn't hunt on em due to high latency (I play from NZ) or the staff/players were infuriating.

More searching and somehow I ended up seeing how the shards were pinging and Evolution was the lowest and most consistent, so I finally decided to download and play. Oslin and I have played on a few different shards and normally after about a month we became either irritated with the staff and the way they treated people, or the limitations that they offered.  I looked for new shards through www.gamesites200.com/ultimaonline.  When we logged in we both were immediately welcomed to the shard by both Zoe and Dante.  Soon after, other players began to welcome us, explain how to get around and how to purchase items off the stone.  It did not take us long before we realized that this was our new shard, which is the way we look at it, "Our Shard", not only for Oslin and I, but forever one else that has chosen this one over all others out there. 

Haven't played UO in nearly 10 years.  I was playing another shard (pre-T2A) and really hated it so clicked their VOTE link and found this shard on JoinUO.


I was always a trammie in OSI so this place is perfect.  Thanks for making it.  I've got a lot to learn and I'm sure I'll be donating soon.

I was playing on another free shard,but due to very lil player base and everything was just to easy. as i was voting one day i saw the ad for EO n decided to check it out. Well i like the challenges here and more active players aswell, I am leaving behind well over 200 mill gold n 10 mill tokens along with my 3 houses and other belongings but it has been well worth it ill be a long time player here n will be voting everyday for Evolution

Please be very specific as to which uo toplist or other advertisement made you come to UO Evolution.  It really helps me determine how to spend our advertising budget

 I ran a new player guild on another shard and recruited some folks that had previously played here. I wrote down the name of the shard and decided to check it out when I was looking for a new place to call home. 

I started like 20 days ago, cant remember Where exactly did i see an ad, but im 99% sure it was Facebook! i had played Uo Hybrid before and heard of Evolution but never checked it out (i had stopped playing uo for like 2 years) and when i saw the add i said to myself "Oh i said i would try that shard!" and here i am

I was bored with another free shard. Looked at either top 100 or top 200. This was the top ranked shard I saw that listed pet breeding on the shard. Checked it out and found old friends here. Still learning  the differences but am very impressed overall.

I was just hunting around but I really had to hunt. There are two sites that come up first on my search anyway and this shard was not listed high on either site. Top 100 & Top 200. I would suggest that you reduce the number of voting sites - focus peoples voting energies on the two that come up the most often in searches. This will increase activity on these sites and you have a better chance (in my opinion) of making an impact. There are too many sites to vote on right now (I think) Also, other sites offer more tangible rewards for voting. It's a motivator for new players on the shard - a way to earn some easy money/eds/tokens - you could reward evo tokens, since evo dollars have a high value here. Financial gain motivates people who would otherwise be to lazy to bother The way of the world i guess.

Found UOEvolution on the #1 spot

a friend of me (delta) was playing here 1,5 years before and he told me about EVO...my main reason for playing here was at first the petsystem what allows to have 10 pets and so many players are online.

I found the shard through the first link on google. It was one of the voting sites (and this was at the top of the list), however, I don't remember which.

The private server I played on for 7 years had to close down last week; I pondered uninstalling UO and forgetting about playing.


I looked on join.uo I think, and saw Evolution. I liked what I read, so here I came.

I had originally played UO back in 1997 when it came out on the OSI shard Lake Superior. We used ICQ to chat lol. And of course played via dial up. I quit sometime after UOR or Third Dawn (I can't remember exactly when).


I rejoined OSI sometime in 2005 after Mondain's Legacy, but that only lasted about 6 months and then I moved on to other things.


Recently a coworker got me interested in UO again and I found this server when looking through one of the sites like these:

I honestly don't think it was one in particular, but this shard was one of the ones in the top of the lists and when I read about it more via the wiki it seemed like a good fit.


So far, so good! I don't have a ton of time to play so it's been slow going but I'm working on it.

My son kept telling me to come to this shard.  I guess he got tired of hearing me complain about the awful shards I joined and then quit.  He said, "No, no...this shard is different; it's right up your ally...You'll love it!"  Finally, I relented and logged on.  Son directed me to the NEW Guild and after meeting the wonderful people in NEW and seeing this amazing content in game I was and am hooked!

I played UO on osi and a couple other servers years ago. I recently decided to play again and the server i played on was dead, only a few people on ever. My sister played evo and suggested that i try it out, she spoke of wonderful things such as new Artifacts , Ancient tombs and Mythical Dragons, I was intrigued. I soon Created a toon and am sure glad i did!

I'm going to start advertising heavily this month and would like a bit of input from the community.

I found this server on the top 100 UO lists and decided to give it a chance.   One of the main things I also look for is to see if there is some recent posts on the forums, which compared to a number of servers this one had.   That gives me an idea of if the server is populated.


Been playing for a week now and it has been awesome.

Help us continue to make UO Evolution the #1 shard!

It takes an entire community to increase our population, and I think it is possible to hit this goal.  Many shards are failing while our shard gains daily!  Keep voting and help promote the shard on social media and on the forum boards, invite your friends and be nice to all the new players!

I'm going to put a lot of time and money into the advertising in May to try and get UO Evolution to the next level.  I think we can get to the 1000+ player online mark this year.  I encourage everyone to read my advertising post and do your best to help promote YOUR shard.  Any help is appreciated!

I have purchased several ads on Google and they seem to be getting 1500 views per day, which has translated into about 10 new accounts daily!

Please help the new players, the staff and New Player guild is very busy and could use a few more veterans to show the new players around

Some mmog's have an iPhone and Adroid app that doesn't actually allow gameplay but contains video, screenshots, and perhaps a widget that allows for accessing game info. This is likely a great way to expose evolution to gamers. You could make the app (essentially an advertising device) somewhat functional by allowing for links to the wiki pages. I'm sure the evolution community would download it droves and give it top ratings, pushing it into high visibility.

I'm a player of UO since many years ago, probably was 2001.
I'm italian, I spent many years on italian shards, I changed like 10 in 11 years and the biggest I've ever played had a record of 122 players but an average of only 43, so imagine the others.
After that I stopped playing for a while because I grew up and the fact I was pushed to restart and restart again more or less any year because the different shards closed was too hard.

One day I had the idea to check if the situation in international shards was the same like italians.
I really don't know why I didn't had this idea before.

Finally looking on google I found Evolution and I felt in love of it.
Many custom things.
Big community.
Possibility to get some stuff from donation.
Really present staff.
Fantastic scripter.
Many events.
Real dialogue between staff & players.

So finally even if in the last two years I didn't play so much I'm so happy to be part of this community.

was bored and reading in reddit randomly when i thought i just can look what the uo community is doing. half an hour later i found me in the "What server should I play on?" thread and was downloading uo evolution.

I found this place via UOPortal. It was the top rated shard at the time, but I was really drawn by the player numbers. I also saw UOEvolution in a reddit. I posted your page on my facebook and I'm now actively recruiting players. Keep up the good work!

I was on reddit and was in /mmporg saw a discussion about UO and nostalgia kicked in. I found some old Napa Valley articles and such (played from 97-10) and then on reddit went to /UO and that was it, saw the evolution and figured never played a free shard downloaded it and was immediately hooked. I have had nothing but fun since starting (6ish days ago) and met some super friendly people that have made the transition back into UO amazing (shout out to Mayhem and Quatic).
