I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to, But any fire attack is reduced by fire resist (Which caps at 70%) There are a few custom mobiles (Such as the Mithril Dragons, Gem dragons and things like that) that have a specific "fire breath" attack that is super strong.  to the tune of 800-1000 damage AFTER fire resist.

I'm not sure how to combat this as i'm fairly new as well, But at this point i would suggest steering clear of any Mithril or Gem dragons for the time being.

Like i said i'm not 100% sure, as i've never killed him.  I run like a little girl.  I'm sure there is a way, because i've seen people kill them.  But i simply do not know it.

for the bigger ones ask a  veteran player like thallos or sultanofpawn, zeus, rainfall, faux  to help you....for killing this dragons u need real good stuff (parry 200+, weaponskill 200+, 300hitpoints), thats mostly a problem for new players.

There are ways to "avoid" taking the fire breath by using decoys like a Mirror Image. But if the creature actually targets your character with the firebreath, unfortunately you have to take it.

   Also, in some cases you can use the 'Evasion' skill.

  This skill requires perfect timing, however, and a little luck. The successful use of 'Evasion' will let you dodge the fire breath attack.

dragons that one shot you are as follows: Greater mithril in sanctuary fel, greater mithril in T2A fel, mithril serpentine outside of fel ice dungeon. these do a fire breath. the ancients , gems, spirillex, stygian and dracoliche dragons do a max of 250 damage with their fire breath. the latter can all be soloed using a good slayer weapon, vampiric embrace, curse weapon, enemy of one, consecrate weapon, gift of life, gift of renewal and casting poison field on yourself to avoid the fire wall they all cast. You will need the max hit points of 300 to survive. They can still kill you when they cast fire breath and bite you simultaneously. The latter dragons do not one shot you. As the dragons lose their hit points, their breath weapon does less damage to you. Always divine fury after being hit with the breath weapon so your bandies are at the maximum speed. good luck

Use high hp pets to take the initial blast, then wear down the stamina of the monster.  It cant use firebreath with low stamina

@Dante, just a general FYI

The newer coded (or recoded) dragons 250ish hp fire breath is not tied to their Stamina. It does not decrease. Even at 1% health its just as powerful as at 100%.

Also, some of the newer coded dragons have anti pet mechanics that decimate pets.

Yes Kane did change some of the obvious old code flaws on the ancient dragons, I was just talking in general, each mob has been designed to be defeated with the tools/items/pets in-game
