I would like to suggest saving skill ball points-- since you will have an abundance -- for an alternate character; which you would use the skill ball points specifically on raising Trade skills up to GM [if not higher]. The reason to do this invovles the fun garnered through Bulk Order Deed completion.
Every six hours you can get another BoD-- one from each of the Trade Skills (Plus a Taming BoD; if you're into that)-- but the BoD's quality is based on a character skill. Characters with higher Trade skills will net you better quality BoD's. Higher quality BoD's grant you better rewards. Of course, rewards from BoD's have a set RNG scale, so expect to get some of the lower end [best] rewards, here and there, when turning them in.
I disagree with Morsax, when it comes to using a skill ball on the skill Stealth, Resisting Spells, any skill involving a spell book, or Begging. Keep in mind, this is only my opinion; and I value what staff offers. His wisdom is sound, if you are looking for a really fast start, and do not know UO well.
If you have time and patience, however, these skills are relatively easy to raise up. That said, I would say that once the skills-- I've mentioned-- are Grand Mastered, using a skill ball to raise them up to [120] Legendary might be the way to go.
I know that main character's start off with a free 700 point skill ball, and that any character created after the first will not start with a free skill ball. I mention this because I am not sure how the starter packs work when granting additional 700 point skill balls. Thus, I suggest sending those skill balls straight to any alts you plan to use as Trade Skill Mules.
Lastly, If your character is a human, or an Elf, you are unable to raise your Throwing skill beyond 10 points, naturally, the last time I checked. Also; 'Arms Lore'-- which wasn't mentioned-- can be raised beyond GM but not through natural means... thus, the last 20 points need to be skill balled.
I hope this helps you round out your options, Giafiordi. In addition, I am only human, and sometimes I make mistakes; especially when I write a post in 15 to 20 minutes. So, if you, or anyone else, sees a mistake... let me know so I can make note of it. Thanks and enjoy.
