I was just wondering if there is a system for monitoring AFK Gold Panning. I just feel like its an easily rule to break and not get caught.

Theres an afk check built into it, and i personally have been afk checked by staff. Good call though.

Thanks for the info Soul :D I've never tried it but I hear is extremely lucrative, I just didn't want to see players taking advantage of a system.

I can make twice as much champing the tokuno spawn per day, but you can make numbers in the millions fairly easily. Its a nice system.

Well I automate alot of the process so i can do it with macro keys, but you still have to be at keyboard to answer the afk checks. You don't wanna ignore them. If two of them pop up at once you will be stuck in a replication loop. It will let you go eventually but only when you go over 1000 stones in weight. Also in order to make millions I have to be at my keyboard for hours doing this. I usually do it in 4 hour batches. Anything more than that and it drives me crazy. Hope this helps. On a side note, you need pretty high skills to make exceptional gold pans. Wild Bill makes mine for me, might wanna [pm him if you are interested. He'll quote you a legitimate price. You also need high fishing to have a good success chance at panning. I usually do it with 140 fishing. Enjoy!

Btw 4 hours will net you a little over a million gold. Not sure how fast a champ spawn axe makes money but a sdi spirit speak suit can make that much in less than an hour, just for comparison.  If you haven't ever gone the sdi route though you need to stay more active and dying is a much higher probability than with the champ axe, but it kills fast.

Side note: you can make millions doing literally anything crafting related for four hours. Look at cost input vs sell output. You'd be amazed at the numbers you can produce. Gold panning is my personal favorite because I am hoping to see the blackrock vendor stone return.

in just about an hour, with less then GM fishing and a shabby amount of luck... I gold panned for 200k plus.

 That includes gold profits, though nugget turn-ins, and all the extras [Large-Gems and Black Rocks] I found.

And it only cost me 18k and 1 hour of my time...

  Gold panning is worth it... even if you only do it once a week.

I just tried it. Burned thru 8 pans which is 800 throws.
I ended up with 10 of each gem, 3 blackrock and 6 mib's.
I spent the next 40 minutes dropping small gold nuggets on the gold panner 5 at a time which turns them into medium nuggets. I then had to drop the medium nuggets on the panner man 3 at a time to turn them into large nuggets. I then needed to drop the large nuggets on the panner man 2 at a time to get gold bars. I then had to drop the gold bars on the panner man to get gold coins in the form of a check which I then deposited for 400k.
If you have patience and are not in it for the excitement, panning can make you some money. I would not expect to get rich quick doing it though.
Also note I have 115 fishing and 835 luck.

Next time drop the nuggets in at bulk, will save you a lot of time. Make sure it is in the proper set.
small = dividable by 5
medium = dividable by 3
large = dividable by 2
bars = dividable by 2

So you can drop 50 small nuggets and get 10 medium back in one go?

   I truly believe that you had a bad day, Sabian.

  8 gold pans should have netted you 6-800k gold; plus gems and blackrock.

  I did 2 pans, 200 throws, and gained 195k, 15-20 of 6-7 gem types + 5 blackrock. My luck was 140 and my fishing was 87 when I started and 92.4 when all done.

Crazy difference.
Do you have a better chance in different areas? Say if it is more dangerous versus along the banks in a town.

I just hit 100 for begging, 100 for tinkering and 115 for fishing. The tinkering gump still shows 0% chance of success to create a gold pan. It only requires 10, 100 and 80. Any ideas why I cannot creat a gold pan?

The success rate functions off the primary skill, in this case tinkering. For the other skills, you just need to meet the required amount.

I have 100 tinkering yet still 0% chance.

Yes, that is correct. You listed 100 tinkering as the minimum. At 100.1 you will have small chance to succeed.

Base Rate + (Your skill - Minimum)/(Maximum - Minimum) = % success

Some skills have a set base success rate, tinkering does not.

So your skill, 100, minus the minimum, 100, gives you 0 in the numerator. 0% chance.

So with a 120 PS I would have 20% success?

I haven't worked backwards to determine the maximum skill. But, I can tell you from having 120 tinkering you will have a 26.7% success rate.
